Overall GPA: 3.83
BCPM GPA: 3.8
Major: Electrical Engineering at a top 10 engineering school
Lots of research activities including an REU at Baylor, 1+ years of bioinformatics research at the same lab, and an international conference publication
Volunteering for 1 year at a local hospital
Volunteering for 1 year at a local orphanage
Undergraduate tutor for engineering students
Undergraduate research fellowship recipient
Summer Internship at National Instruments doing hardware research and development
University Honors
Study Abroad in China
But here's the kicker:
August 2005 MCAT: 32Q (12/9/11) but...
April 2006 MCAT: 30Q (10/10/10)

I am a texas resident and am interested in UT-southwestern, baylor and other top 30 medical schools...but I'm worried about my MCAT. I am currently debating whether or not I should retake it a third time. Anyone have any idea if I'll be competitive without a strong MCAT? Basically if I should retake it again or not?

I'm not sure why you retook the mcat with 32

It might make the adcom a bit 😕

But a 3.8 with a hard major and reputable undergrad plus 30 mcat is competitive, you have the volunteering, clinical, and research...

Yea in retrospect I would've settled for the 32...its just that I thought the verbal I did uncharacterstically bad on so I tried to smooth it out...at the expense of my other sections 😳

I'm trying to get a feel for what types of schools I would be competitive at.
