I'm going into my second semester of sophmore year and I just wanted reassurance (or criticism) of whether my schedule would be possible
So I'm taking:
Orgo 2 + lab+ discussion section-4 credits
A biology seminar required for my major- 4 credits (but it's only a couple of readings and 2-3 papers)
Anatomy lecture + lab-4 credits
A general ed course (lecture + section)- 4 credits

On the side,
I plan on continuing working 2 jobs (1 I work 8-10 hours per week and the other I can choose whenever)
Mentoring ( 3 hours + weekly grouo meetings)
I plan on starting volunteering at a crisis center but just simply office support
And also maybe join a club I've been wanting to join since the beginning of the school year (1 hour weekly commitment)

It's doesn't seem too bad but I'm not really sure since I'm the judging myself.

Thanks in advance!

Your proposed schedule is doable, especially as you didn't exceed two labs, and you have some flexibility built in, with an as-able job and an elective club.

How did your last term go?

@Catalystik I pretty much had the same thing except one less lab and without the office volunteering and it turned out pretty well. I was just worried about all the labs and sections that each class has.

Definitely doable but you’ve got to know yourself and your time management skills well. If you can manage your time well I say go for it! I did something similar with 35 hours a week working and volunteering and doing an additional lab course (3 lab courses as a full time student and a writing intensive course). Just be sure when you sit down to work you actually get it done!

Its doable if you accept the fact that you will have no social life or any free time at all. I switched to biology major and pre-med path before my junior year. I crammed 4 years worth of science coursework into 2 years (my typical semester was Chemistry (2 semesters gen chem, 2 semesters orgo all with labs), 3 other biology courses all with labs, 1 gen ed class) while working 2 jobs (40+ hours per week), and volunteering. My last semester was OChem 2, Immunology, Calculus based Statistics, Advanced Cell Biology, World Literature (everything except Lit had a lab), 2 jobs (approx 40 hours/week), and 4 hour shift per week at a hospital as a volunteer. I would not recommend this to anyone, but it can be done.
