On QBank, I'm scoring anywhere from 62%-70% four or five times in a row, and then one set of questions will come along that seems ridiculously hard and I'll make like a 52% on it, and it's really keeping my average down. Is this happening to anyone else... do you find that 1 out of every 6 question sets or so seems harder than the others???

I think this happens to everyone. Recently I had a 30 point drop from one set to the next. But there was also a big point drop in the "average" score on those two sets. It's probably better to compare your performance to the other users than to look at an individual score on its own. Even better, look at your past 5-7 sets and calculate a cumulative percentage.

ooh! oooh!!! me! i hate qbank. i'm getting all over the place. i'm taking the test in a week and i get a freaking 54%. wtf? the questions seem to come in clusters. i either know all of them or none of them.

strange

How are you taking these tests? Are they all random 50 question blocks like I and a lot of other people seem to take? Or are you doing subject specific stuff?

Regardless, I also feel like I keep getting blocks of questions where I'll see one question early and then one or two questions later in the same 50 q block that test the exact same concept or random fact. If I don't know one concept I automatically get dinged on 2 or 3 questions.

I think Qbank has an ego deflating algorithm. Inevitably after a high scoring set of questions, I'll get crushed the next set. What kaplan giveth, kaplan taketh away.

i have been doing Qbanks like crazy and i notice the same thing.

70, 72, 70, 68 and boom, 52 and then back up to 72, 70, 68, 70 and boom 55....

i do them all in 50/random

This has happened to me, and it had me concerned that on my "low days" I just wasn't as focused or putting in as much effort. It's a relief to learn that this is a common experience.

Me too...I talked to two Kaplan instructors that told me qbank is meant to keep you down so you'll study harder.
