I interviewed an applicant like that once. Every response seemed to be crafted to satisfy what s/he thought I probably wanted to hear. It backfired, because I was pretty lenient with most applicants and just wanted someone that I could work with in a few years.

I have to ask - can you actually call them out on it? After hearing her response I'd have to respond with "Really...how long did you rehearse that?" 🙄

OK guys!! We all know it's fake, but I personally think it is better for her to rehearse answers we want to hear rather than people who are 'truthful' to the point where they confess murder....lolz.

As long as you are quick on your feet, you can turn almost any slip up around.

But seriously. I made the mistake of digging a few mini graves during my interview.... but I turned those holes into hot-tubs by the time I was done.
