This fall I'm taking:

Organic chem 1 and lab
Physics 1 and lab
psychology of child development (200 level psych class)
sensation and perception (300 level psych class)
survey of jewish civilization (global and cross cultural studies gen ed)

I'm thinking of replacing one of the psych classes with human physiology (but without the lab)...or maybe get permission to take 20 credits and adding it on. I've already taken a genetics, a parasitology class, and comparative chordate anatomy...so this won't be my first upper level bio class.

Would this course load be too intense?

I would NOT add Human physio instead. The current schedule seems cool as long as you don't fall behind too much.

I agree with Nubian Princess. I think as it stands now your schedule would be doable... But I think adding Physiology would make it a little much... And you don't want to risk making bad grades just to cram in another science... Hope this helps!

I think it's a good schedule, esp if you end up doing well (all A's, maybe two B+'s at the most). Keep up on your reading for the humanities courses, which will be the classes that nip you in the butt. Deciding to read 90 pages for jewish culture over studying for an orgo test is a hard decision to make. but hey, you're going to med school soon and you'll have to take even harder semesters.

the schedule is fine, but no need to add the physio. can't you wait and take it the following semester? that is indeed what I would do. good luck!

Still so sexy!!! 🙂

I would suggest you take Physiology next semester with teh second part of Organic and Physics. Are you taking the April MCAT? If so have Physiology right before the MCAT can be helpful.

I would leave your schedule like it is now. There is no reason to overload. It is a marathon, not a sprint. You don't want to start burning out before the MCAT. You will need your strength to start preparing for that.

If you have extra time, then I would highly suggest during MCAT prep along with your classes. You could get the Kaplan and Princeton Review books at the bookstore and start doing the sections that correspond to the sections you are learning in your classes. Two birds with one stone, so to speak.
