Hi, everyone:

I am considering starting premed and applying for some Caribbean schools. As I re-looked my previous transcripts, I found some potential problems.

About 7 years ago, I went for a 2-year Master's program in a medical-unrelated field in a so-so state university. I was enrolled as a thesis-track student. The first summer I took the "Graduate Thesis" course, and had a grade "P", as you all know for thesis class they only has P or F.

As my study went on, I felt this was not the field I really wanted to work in. I switched to non-thesis track. The second summer I took "Independent Study" class. I got my degree as a non-thesis student.

Normally if one pursues thesis track, one takes 2 three-credit ?Graduate Thesis? classes. Does my transcript look weird and is defected? Will the admission committee raise a question like ?What happened to your thesis??

Also, when I did the switch, the advisor told me she could change my previous ?Graduate Thesis? course to ?Independent Study?, so that I could graduate as a non-thesis student. But then both of us were too busy and negligent so we didn?t change. Can I still change the course name on the transcript now after so many years? I thought I should not have graduated with such a weird transcript like this.

So will my transcript be considered weird and defected, or it is just me who were panic.

I don't know what to do now. Please give me your honest opinion, bad or good. I really appreciate it.

It's a minor detail. We've all grown paranoid. They may not even mention it, nor care. How's overall GPA, science, ecs, MCAT? It's the complete picture. There is nothing perfect about any of us.

Thanks for your reply. My overall GPA on that program is OK, about 3.6

So there is no need to change it? Or if I want to, I don't know whether the school will allow me to do so.

Thanks again
