I've seen a bunch of cars with MD in their license plate if thats what you mean and there are rules even if you do have an MD on your plate. You can't just speed willy-nilly...
edit: this is what it looks like in new york![]()
That's what it looked like in the '70s...... I can't remember the last time I saw an orange NY plate 😛
Just remember - you're going to need that money to pay your student loans.I can absolutely tell you that it won't get you out of speeding tickets.
but hey, if you want to try - let me know how much the tickets cost you and how much your insurance goes up for every ticket you get.Just remember - you're going to need that money to pay your student loans.

I have seen a bunch of doctors' cars with said stickers. Is this true? I can't wait😀
Shame that 200k+ a year on a medical education to get MD plates won't get you out of a ticket, but a few hundred dollar donation to your local PBA will get you a card to flash when you get pulled over. Not really sure how well those PBA cards work though![]()
What is PBA?

Just make sure you're in the right jurisdiction. Try flashing a PBA card in another state and you're looking at a ticket and anything else they can find wrong for SURE.
And lordy, NEVER try that in the west. With all the corruption in the east, the mid-west/west are really anal about any hint of impropriety.
So in NY I guess it's just for douche-bags who have a superiority complex over the other commuters in the Lincoln Tunnel? Ahhh....lol, thats all i could find on a quick google search, wanna find a more up to date version, be my guest 😀
edit: never mind, I found one:![]()
also, after reading the DMV's site, its just like any other customized plate. I don't think having an MD in the back of your car will get you outta any speeding tickets.

Well sometimes at least...I still got ONE ticket from a state trooper here, but they have a reputation for being a bit...well lets just say, surely.
Nate.
Good job, you just jinxed yourself. 😉In Illinois we get calls for donations to various police organizations and they give you a sticker for your car. I actually had one person trying to get my donation tell me that it would get me out of tickets. (They use a fundraising service)
I do not donate, and I've also never gotten a speeding ticket.
The troopers here are the worst. I got a ticket driving home from my MCAT, when the officer asked me where I was coming from and I told him he got really mean and said "what? trying to be better then us blue collers?"
...........................yeah. not the best day.
yeah, plus you save gas. I've increased my mpg from like 39 up to around 44 just by slowing down from 75 to around 65 on the interstate. Amazing.... Plus you arrive at your destination much more relaxed from not having to look for police everywhere. Even if it takes you a few extra minutes, its not worth the stress of speeding.Um, here's a thought. Why not just OBEY THE LAW and don't speed??? then you won't have any tickets to "get out of".
Just a thought.

are you serious??? I am interested to know more about this.A ticket attorney can always get you out of a ticket for about $45- 50 in any major city w/o having to appear in court.
Much more efficient...
I am highly skeptical of this statement.A ticket attorney can always get you out of a ticket for about $45- 50 in any major city w/o having to appear in court.

I read an article (that I can't find now) that in California docs with MD plates are "allowed" to speed if it is an emergency. The article really about how all kinds of docs were using the plates and abusing the priviledge by speeding whenever and whereever.
I am highly skeptical of this statement.
A "ticket attorney" sounds like one of those "DUI lawyers", you know, the commercials claiming that they will somehow get you out of it. Even though in my state 9/10 of DUI cases brought to court fail. (Not much defense when you blow over the legal limit!).

That's sort of like saying the gallbladder sounds like the bladder and thus you would treat the gallbladder the same way you would the bladder, follow me here?
Ticket attorneys do exist, many make great livings and are usually very effective at what thet do. It's a good thing you are skeptical though... 🙂
Hmmm. Dunno how the cops would be able to tell when there isn't an emergency to speed to. Now, in my little neck of the woods, emergency vehicles (ie EMS) are allowed to exceed the seed limit by 10 miles an hour, but no more. I assume that this does not apply to cops, who have been trained in high speed driving.
When I asked a stater about exceeding the speed limit to respond to the station in my private vehicle, he was pretty clear that, since I have no emergency lighting or training, I was not to exceed the posted limit. EVER.
sounds a whole lot different than your explanation above.and I can say with much conviction that cops in general are pretty awful drivers. Their training in high speed conditions is nothing more than a visit to a local flat track once a year to perform a few maneuvers.
And for what it's worth, my "button" (if I had to name one) on this particular subject is that anyone would think they're above obeying the law in any but the most unusual and rare of circumstances.
