is university of the sciences a party school?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was a designated driver for a party like the one A4MD mentioned... And a girl puked out the car window while I was driving 65 mph down the highway. Puke literally sprayed out the window, got in the lining of the door, the back of the seat, and all over the side of the car. (It wasn't my car, thank god). I had to stop and squee-gee the entire side of the car and then carry the chick up the stairs to her apartment and put her in bed and then wait for the cops to come because her alarm went off in her house but she was passed out and I didn't know the code... That was a night I don't want to repeat.

Ewww. I had something similar happen once when I was DD, but the puke landed all inside my clean, fairly new car, and I had ~50 miles left to drive. Never, ever, ever again.

So...parties might be something you remember long after they happen, but not necessarily for the right reasons.

I actually did almost exactly the same thing in my friend's car, but I was considerate enough to get my entire face out the window so only the outside was disgusting. I even paid for a car wash! She made you squee-gee the car though?? That's just rude.

I would share some of my rather insane stories too but since I have a pic up and not sure who checks these forums 🙂meanie🙂, I think I will refrain. BTW, thanks for the thread derailment y'all.:highfive:😀

😀

i started hearing dry heaving and sped into the nearest truck scale at like 3am...we shoved her out the car and she stumbled out/puked on the concrete divider.

scared me enough to start putting plastic bags in the back seat.

additional tips: carry good quality plastic bags wherever you go (one in your back pocket, some in the back pocket of the car seats, etc...). CVS bags are okay, Target's are the best (inspect the bottoms).

Next time you're on a flight, take the sick bag...but the openings are too small IMO for your average drunk person. The opening to a plastic bag is much better.

It was 2am, no self serve car wash in sight and I would never leave a car with puke on it unrinsed in the summer in Arizona. She didn't make me do anything because she was passed out. I did it out of the kindness of my heart. At the time I had a crush on her but that night totally ruined it for me.

wonder who you were talking to

yeah i got all the party out of my system during my crazy undergrad years, pharm school has been more like a job for me vs. being a student (i'm completely over the "college experience" thing).

There are days when I look at some of my preceptors who are ~ my age/younger who did their 0-6 + residency with some tinge of jealousy -- often in a functional way, like thinking to myself, "damn, they're making their six figures before age 25 & got in when getting a residency was easier."

then i think of all the stuff i did/experienced/gained in 4yrs of undergrad and, given another chance, i'd do the exact same thing all over again.

I had my fun and I'm going the 2+4 + pgy2 route... but I don't think it's as common as people who went traditional undergrad.

there are two guys and a girl going to USciences from my school and they all told me they picked USciences because of what happens there...

it is freaking me out. i'm not one that is into partying. I hate being in a large group of people. What percentage of the school parties, do you guys think?

I think he's worried about finding good friends from classmates who would be willing to take things seriously enough to study with him.

It's hard to study with classmates who care too much about partying and joking around. Studying with them means you don't get much done. They also like to gossip and judge people on what they see and hear without knowing the people they talk about.

you can be a loner and play video games all day, that's not difficult...

Sounds like a good time to me :meanie:

Maybe when you're part of the group gossiping about someone. But then when I actually know the person well enough, I kinda feel bad taking part in the conversation. I guess I care too much about my classmates.

I also can't believe how quickly and how severely they will judge someone based on one act or one statement.

From what? Something he heard from two kids? We are talking about a class of close to 200 students.

Yes, I understand it is hard to study with students who care too much about partying, but there are plenty of students who could care less about partying.

If they like to gossip and judge, and if you don't want to be a part of that, its fine, just ignore it

But worrying about something that is out of your control...well, it is time well wasted.
