I've already completed all my requirements for my bio major, but i still have one semester left in undergrad. My school is very small, so there aren't a lot of bio classes to choose from. Virology is being offered next semester. Do you think it's worth it to take this class? Will it help with d-school, is it interesting in general? Any thoughts are appreciated! 😀

if you haven't taken them, does your school offer any anatomy, histology, immunology, bacteriology, biochemistry, physiology, neurology? Those would all probably be more useful

I think you are absolutely right.
Unless you can substitute virology with above classes, I think you should take virology. Any upper level science class can't hurt your application (as long as you do okay in it).

I enjoyed Virology but mostly b/c of the lab. If there were no lab involved, I'd probably pass on it.

i wouldnt take it if i didnt have to...im taking micro rite now and its a crap load of memorization...its prob the hardest class iv taken to date cuz its just so much pure memorization

I've taken micro already, and i'm surrently taking biochem I and i'll take biochem II next semester. My school alternates immunology and virology every year, and this year just happens to be a virology year. There is a special topic neurobiology course next semester. I think it's the first time being taught at my school, maybe i should look into that instead?

i've taken an advanced medical micro class which covered a good bit of virology. i really enjoyed it. but i'm currently in a graduate level neuroscience class and i love it! but to each his own, although i do feel that i'm learning more useful information in my neuroscience class than i did in my med micro class...

wrapping up first semester of D1. had some virology and it was pretty straight forward. i would spend my time taking a more useful class (histo or anatomy is particular)

Yes Virology would be a good class to take along with the others
