Excellent!!! I try to tell people how important it is to apply as early as possible. Best of luck with your interviews

oops, 😳 my bad 😳 with the "september" 23 - yes yes i did mean AUGUST.

anyhow, my interviews are at eastern virginia and indiana university.

and my stats are really 🙄 NOTHING 🙄 to brag about, especially compared to some of the others on this site. but i'll embarrass myself anyways:

undergrad gpa: 3.7
MCAT: 28 O

best of luck :luck: :luck: :luck: to the rest!

🙂 rae 🙂

congrats raeshine! good luck. and yes, you are right about being on time, because you never know who or what will come down your path. If yu aren't in the right place at the right time, you can miss out on a whole lot. 😉

how many schools did you apply to, this year and last?

Did you submit your application on June 1st?

BTW-has anyone else noticed that MD schools are way slower than DO schools for interviews and secondaries? I submitted the AACOMAS two weeks later than the AAMCAS and I recieved my secondaries from all DO schools- and only three MD schools! Complete secondaries at 8 schools-very recently-invited to interview at 2 so far.

how much did they pay you?? 🙄

WHAT??????? Why is October late???? The earliest deadline is October 15th.

Am I totally screwed if I don't get my AMCAS in until after Labor day? :scared: Will I get my secondaries in time??? :scared:

why did it take you so long??? jus wait and apply next year like all of the losers such as myself 😛

Psycho Doctor-Yes October is pretty late to submit primary-not secondary apps ( I did the former last year-so believe me here)-but not too late. If you have good stats and submit primary in October you will probably still get in- but its more competetive due to rolling admissions-less slots to compete for.

The school's deadlines are for the actual date you need to submit your primary app by (to AMCAS OR AACOMAS). Didn't you already submit your secondary? I think so, so you should be fine.
Also, for those taking the Aug MCAT-even if you submit in June, they won't give you a secondary till they recieve your scores in October-so don't worry about it-theres nothing you could have done, anyways (you took Aug MCAT, right?) Those taking the MCAT in Aug are at a slight disadvantage to those who took it in April and applied June 1st.

Don't be scared-you are many steps ahead of a lot of people who live out in the boonies and have no access to computer or SDN (like the way I was last year). 😀

My opinion: get your AMCAS in IMMEDIATELY. If you wait until you get your MCAT scores you will be at the bottom of the heap at a bunch of schools. (Of course, this is a gamble since you don't know how you did.) At your state school you will probably still be fine. If you are applying to rolling or top-tier schools, you need to get going.

Many schools will send a secondary long before they receive your MCAT scores (I had 7 of 10 secondaries before my August MCAT score came out).

no, i have submitted nothing...that's right, nothing!! well maybe my transcript has been sent and i asked for LOR, but that's it. I need to finish my PS this weekend so i can finally send out my AMCAS :scared:

yes i took the August MCAT and I stupidly did nothing until after it was over, b/c i needed to concentrate only on that (and my summer organic classes), now it's toooo late; and I'm in so much trouble. i didn't realize it was that bad, but it is, and now i'll never get in any place 🙁

no, i'm sure they've already submitted their AMCAS, which i have not!! 🙁

Well, this is exactly what I did last year, for many of the same reasons. But you have good ECs and good GPA, and its only late August. Anyways, no point in worrying about it. I bet you'll get in somewhere. How many schools are you applying to?

Psycho, calm down. Getting worried is only going to slow you down. You still have a great shot at any school that doesn't have rolling admissions. My only caveat is you shouldn't use that idea to comfort yourself as you continue to delay. Get it in as soon as you can. You'll be happy next Spring as you get your admissions letters.

Get your app in as soon as you can. Don't worry about what's past, just worry about what you gotta do.
