I’ve read that some medical schools are not receptive to receiving ITA letters.
Is there some list that shows which schools are not and which are receptive to receiving the letters?

To my knowledge, it cannot hurt to ask. I was offered an II in Philadelphia (far from home) and I politely called the other Philadelphia medical schools letting them know I'd be ITA and scooped up a handful of other IIs from the philly schools.

I asked my original questions because I know there Are schools that don't look favorably even upon a polite request.
Northwestern Feinberg is one example.

If you don’t have a II yet at the school, I would not bother. If you do, it’s worth asking.

Is the reason "I have another interview close by..." Vs "I'm going to be in town (like on vacation")..."
Does it matter?

I said I had an interview at one of the Philadelphia schools via phone. The nice receptionist told me please send her proof of my II (this way I'm not scamming them? IDK I guess folks lie about it?) and then they simply reviewed my application a bit sooner. This also worked for me in Chicago. I think its because I do live a) far away and b) I had the #s/qualifications for an interview anyway.

I have written two of these emails so far and in both cases, I mentioned I was going to their (rather far away) cities for another interview and gave them the exact date of said interview. Both schools responded to my email, but one slightly more favorably than the other.

Hi! I noticed your screenname...It must be challenging to go through this process with kids! How old are they?

Transparency - I’m collecting SND knowledge to distill down and help my daughter this summer. She took June MCAT, had been working 50hrs/week in a summer engineering internship since June, while pumping out 26 secondary apps she just completed. Didn’t leave her much time to learn about the whole process-practical-side nuances of applying and timing that is so valuably found across SDN forums. She is fortunate to have an NYU interview, so it would be nice to coordinate others while in NYC since she’ll be flying from Los Angeles during the fall semester.

The actual ITA letter, interview prep and everything else of course, I’ll leave up to her.

An ITA was sent to a school prior to II and requested 1,2,4,7 of October working around another Oct 3 interview. The II was just received today and the closest open date is Oct 8 in their scheduling system. Oct 8,9 I am not available. Both T10 schools in NYC.

Can you please share your opinion on the following:
1. Do meds schools manually ‘squeeze’ in ITA students for dates unavailable in their online system?
2. If so, would it be inappropriate to essentially send another ITA email, or call to request intervention from the online scheduling?

Thanks.

so far I emailed three schools ITAs, they all replied me with a polite NO. despite they knew I have fee waiver and I live far away

Sorry to hear that 🙁 Were those schools on the "No" end of this list? If not, could you add them for posterity?
