UMDNJ would be awesome! Would be very happy (as far as I know) with that school!

Are you guys submitting your applications without the MCAT ? I am just waiting for the MCAT scores before hitting that submit button.

hey, quick question. i assumed that once you submit the app. it would be closed. but when i click on stuff it appears that it's still possible to edit. why is this?

I just tried it, and the only thing I can do is to view those sectons not edit. Some of the things you an edit like Biographical Information , parental info, but not PS, COursework and experiences.

i though i could edit the PS because i could type in the box. but the "save" button is missing. you're right. i'm way too excited to get my app processed and sent already so i'm panicking about everything. 😳

deep breaths

What MCAT score are you expecting to get? A low score could mean lost money >$400 if you choose not to do secondaries, but I think that would be the extent of it.

Wow, so few people applying to Nova...

hey boner,

did your AACOMAS GPA go up or down from what your university GPA was?

Hey CuttinEmUp,
My AACOMAS GPA went down by 0.012 points compared to my university GPA. No big deal. And FYI, AACOMAS will calculate your grades out to three decimal places for some reason. If your university uses the standard 4.0 grading system, then don't expect much to change.

good point, and good information, thanks Boner.

I took the MCATs before April 2006, so I was trying to concentrate on the Verbal component. However, based on my practice exams, upper 20s to lower 30s. Not great, but not horrible. How about yourself?

I asked because I was checking out your MDapplicants profile.

I took the MCAT back in April 2004 and got a 28N.

My Science GPA went way down from my AMCAS GPA since Math was not considered as part of the science GPA.

Yeah, I'm disappointed about this. I'll see what AACOMAS does with my GPA. As a prediction, I think we will both have similar GPA and MCAT. We applied to some of the same schools. Hope to see you at interviews.

Thanks, OncoDoc.

Looking forward to going through this process. Just responded to your PM.

It's 12:40 AM, I just submitted my AACOMAS and now I'm relaxing at home watching Conan and drinking a Killians (must be Irish night :luck: ). I applied to all schools except

WVSOM, MSUCOM (too much money)

UNECOM (too cold, burrr :scared: )

Western and LECOM (my GPA's not high enough)

hope to run into fellow SDNer's at interviews. Now I can finally relax (hopefully for at least three weeks) until the secondaries come? Whew....

👍 You didn't apply to half the schools I did! I figured that I was going to be in debt anyways, so applying to WVSOM and MSUCOM wasn't a problem. I'm from New England so UNECOM was up my alley. I wasn't aware that LECOM and Western had such high GPAs. I'm questioning myself now. Great!

Yes, I hope to see you during interviews too.

How did you find out what their GPA and MCAT scores were? is this listed on their sites or...? A bit confused how to locate that info 🙂

Well, I know that I will be in debt too, but the real reason was that I didn't want to feel like a tool and apply to every school out there. I did my best to narrow down my choices (to 16 or something like that). Hopefully I can get into a good school by the fall and just cancel all my other applications. ***keeeping my fingers crossed***

Oh, I understand that. I narrowed my choices to 10 schools, but included MSU because of the great match list, their association with the MD school, and for the program itself. I'm applying to WVU because my DO LOR is from there (may carry more weight). I wasn't very interested in both LECOM(s), but Western/COMP has left a positive impact both from research and talking to current and incoming students.

I know there are multiple factors to consider in deciding where to apply, but I didn't think price was such a high factor. You can always say no before accepting. The best of luck! Hope to see you during interviews.
