I figured I'll start this one now and see how many of us are still waiting for interviews. If you can please list the schools that you still haven't heard anything from....including date (approx) secondary app was complete, I'll start

Northwestern (mid sept)
U Chicago (mid sept)
Jefferson Med (oct)
USC (late nov)
Mt Sinai (early dec)
Albany (mid jan)
Loma Linda (earl jan)
Boston Univ (early Oct)
NYMC (late sept)
Cornell (mid dec)
UCLA/DREW (sent it late nov)
UCLA (yesterday !)
Univ Washington (yesterday)

I guess I'll contribute:

Hopkins (Aug)
Northwestern (Aug)
Duke (Dec)
USC (Dec)
Harvard (Dec)
Tufts (Aug)

All secondaries were finished Oct-Nov w/ the exception for Georgetown which lost it and I had to re-send in early Jan. Most applications were complete in late Nov.

Boston U
Finch
George Washington
Georgetown
Jefferson
Sinai
New York Medical College
Oregon
Penn State
Saint Louis U.
Temple
Tufts
U. Pitt
VCU

I'm awaiting interviews or pre-interview rejections from the following:

Northwestern
Emory
Harvard
Stanford
Hopkins
Baylor
UT-San Antonio
Loyola
Wash U
Yale
Penn

Most of my secondaries were completed August-October. The only exceptions were Hopkins and Stanford, which I just completed last month.

I just wanted to share my latest thought. I used to think that applying early was great because the commitee would review your application many times before deciding. This past week, with no mail and no word from med schools, I thought "good, they're still considering me" since other people have posted rejections from them. THEN I realized, that for me, since most of my apps were not complete till Nov and early Dec, no news is not good news. I want news!!! Schools probably haven't even looked at my application yet (or not that much), so of course I'm not hearing anyhting. 😡 😡 😡

Sorry, I had to vent, now I'm done

Schools I haven't heard from (yes I win the award for the most):

🙁

Here's my list. All were complete mid-Sept. I also was an August '00 MCATer.

USC- slow ass people
MCW- "You should hear something shortly" - that was a month ago
Loma Linda- Whoops, I actually put down that I still drink alcohol and smoke a little marijuana
Pitt- On the cusp of being a solid school, should get rejection within a few weeks
Tulane- I need to be at a place like this, it reminds me of home 😀
Finch- I thought this was my safety, but they show no love to me
SLU- hmm... not sure what to make of this place. Got an out-of-office email message a couple of weeks ago, said they wouldn't be back for 2 weeks. I thought that it was funny that in their secondary they emphasize "good communication" between applicants and admissions office

question.....if you take the august mcat, can you still submit your amcas in july and submit secondaries before you get your scores? like med schools would have everything except your scores? I didn't know this...maybe if i dont get in i'll take the aug mcat...and since i already took it once, i could still get interviews before the new scores are reported

sure, you can go ahead and submit your AMCAS app--there's a little box to check on it asking you if you are taking the august MCAT. many, if not most, schools will go ahead and send you secondaries without having received your MCAT scores, since many schools don't screen at this stage; however, they won't review your file until your MCAT scores are received, and that's where the hold-up comes in. the schools that DO screen before sending secondaries won't do anything until they receive your scores. so if you decide to take the august MCAT, it is definitely to your advantage to have everything else ready to go at the schools you apply to, if you can, so the instant your scores arrive there, your file can go under review. good luck!

There's hope out there!

Keep your head up guys. In the last 3 days I've heard from Cornell, Northwestern, and Emory. I was an APRIL mcater and I have been complete at the schools for OVER 4 months.

I think that schools are just wayyyy behind. Hopefully they'll extend some of their deadlines.

Hey UCLA2000 --

Any good news out of those school for you???

🙂

August MCATer. Some of these completion dates are guesses, as schools didn't really notify us when they got around to getting the scores in the file, if they'd previously notified us everything else was complete.

Boston (10/15)
George Washington (11/19) - on "hold"
U. Michigan (10/24)
U. Va (Oct/Nov)
Wash U. (Oct/Nov)

E'01, too bad about NYU. Best of luck with the rest of your list! 🙂
