Congrats! I can't wait to feel the same. I am taking the OAT on Nov. 7th. Your scores look great. How long and how did you study? Did you take a prep class like Kaplan?

i took a kaplan course last year, and it wasnt that helpful, probably because no one in the entire kaplan office knew anything about the oat, just the dat + mcat. it was kinda discouraging, so i didnt work as hard as i should have in the class, so i wasnt prepared to take it. i started seriously studying for it this past july while i was working a full time job at an optom office so it was mainly 2 hours a day, 6 days a week. i pushed test date back 3 times because i juss didnt feel ready. i think thats really important, being confident, everyone told me so but i didnt believe it until today.

i studied from the kaplan prep books that they gave me during the course and i bought the kaplan book at barnes just because they had complete practice tests in there. i did a lot of practice problems esp from the practice tests, not just the thick book and the flashcards are a MUST. i also made some of my own flashcards. closer to test date, i juss made review sheets of things i couldnt make myself remember and brought those into test day with me. and i think thats basically it...most important piece of advice id have to give is 1. dont be discouraged by ur practice test scores and 2. practice reading comp from an mcat or lsat book bc none of the kaplan material prepares you enough for the actual (i went from 390 practice to 330 actual).

and come november 7th, ur going to own it =) and be just as happy as i am right now!!

whats your GPA princess? Overall and pre-req. Just curious 'cause I am applying to SCCO too.

Congrats! You said to borrow MCAT and LSAT bks to study for RC, any recommendations on whether Kaplan mcat, barron's, or princeton. A lot of people are not doing so well on RC, and schools like SCCO requires RC over 300 for interview. Also, was Kaplan biology prep from the big 1200 pages enough to ace the test, or did you use more biology resources. Thanks for your help.

Pinkprincess, congrats on your awesome OAT scores! Do you have any suggestions for the physics section. I am struggling so bad in physics. Physics is a nightmare for me. What do you think I should concentrate on? Thanks!

mme27, my overall is 3.34, and im not sure what my prereq is

phuongle, im not sure which is better, my boyfriend had blueprint and his sister let me use princeton stuff, and i didnt use them nearly as much as i should, so im sorry, i wish i could tell u more

clovers, FOCUS ON FORCE and KINEMATICS. i hated physics too, i wish someone had told me that, but i found out that they were the main focus like a day before so =/. but concentrating on it still means u need to study the other stuff. i dont want to tell u to study on force and kinematics and then miss optics and e and b field stuff, but i noticed that many of the q's on mine were force and kinematics.

I pushed my test back a few times also! It was going to be before the wedding (Sept. 22)... then before the honeymoon (Oct. 2)... now it's going to be Oct. 31. 😱 That is definitely one good piece of advice, feel confident before taking the test, or you're just going worry yourself even more (and if anyone's like me, there's constant worrying anyway!) I hope my scores are just as great as your's, and congratulations again!

thanks princess. You seem to have everything going for you. Good luck with everything!

Yay! I just got done taking the OAT about an hour ago! I'm so relieved, but at the same time so nervous because I hope my scores are good enough for the schools. 👍

Here's my scores if anybody cared to know:

RC: 330
Bio: 360
GC: 310
OC: 330
Phy: 340

TS: 340
AA: 340

Those are awesome scores! You'll get in somewhere =). Do you mind giving me some pointers for the physics section?

Thanks Clovers & cpw, that means a lot! 😍

Physics for me, and like others on the forum that I've read, had a lot to do with kinematics/force.. blocks, inclines, balls being thrown up, etc. Nothing really too complex. Tensions important. I had like four optics questions, but some people have said they didn't have any, so it just depends on the questions you get! You'll be fine! 😎

Hey aam0050,

Your biology score looks great. Did you just study out of the review book by Kaplan? Any tips on Biology section would be great. Oh, for ochem section, what did the test focused on? People on SDN said to study basic reactions, but there are gazillion reactions, and I can't judge which ones are basic. Thanks
