Hello,

This is my first post and I am looking for some advice. I thought I had signed up properly for the January 2012 PCAT back in early October, but I just found out that this is not the case and I'm pretty worried right now. I had done the first step and paid the registration fee, but did not create the other account on pearsonvue to fully register/confirm a seat. (After I paid the registration fee and chose my preferred date, I had to leave the country for over a month to a remote place and did not have internet access to see the Pearson emails telling me to confirm my seat).

Anyways, I am looking to write it in British Columbia. I've been calling/checking online to see whether a spot is available in Vancouver/Burnaby/Victoria, but they are all full at the moment.

My main question: What are the chances that a spot becomes available? Is it highly unlikely for someone to cancel? Do they have a few seats on hold? Do a few people usually cancel on the last day left to cancel (Dec. 27th)?

How many people are writing the tests at these centres? I am asking this to get a bit of an idea of whether it is likely that someone cancels. (If there's a very small amount of students writing then my chances would be less)

If anyone is thinking of cancelling their spot in British Columbia, I would be extremely grateful if you would let me know. I will definitely be constantly checking to see whether a spot becomes available, but I am posting here to hopefully get some good news.

I know this is entirely my fault. If anyone else has been in this same situation, any advice would be much appreciated. If I don't get to do this then I will have to wait another year just to apply. I can't really relax right now and I don't want to make my parents stress out over nothing IF there's a good chance that a seat becomes available. Thank you for any help.

Hey, if all the seats at your local pearson center are full, then I would suggest you not wait until someone decides to cancel because the chances of that happening are probably slim to none. How ever, if I may, I would suggest you call other Pearson centers and try to get an appointment together. Look at it this way, January is your last chance, so even if you have to travel a few hours just to take the exam, I would recommend you do so.
