I just got into Jeff they are quick it has only been 1 week since my interview I am so happy😀
 
congrats,i cant wait until my interview on the 19th., ahhh so far.. everyone loves this school.


what were ur stats?

i hope my 3.56 (ew lol) and 31 give me a chance 😀
 
is this school worth the extra 20k more than my state school (RWJ)
 
well it is !!! when I don't have a state school Jeff is more clinical and slightly ranked higher.. it all depends what you want. don't rain on my parade🙂

YEah I got that email too. Do you know any details about it? whether it's a 2 day event or you pick one day....can't wait to go!

Did you end up calling for your status? I was just about to do the same thing, since the 'status' page doesn't tell us much. But when I listened to the menu options, there was one for "if you're calling to request an interview".....ummmm can you seriously do this? I got scared and hung up. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Yeah, I remember that option, but every time I have called them, such an incredibly rude female secretary answered the phone that I'm not going to bother. It probably wouldn't do anything anyway.

I think you have to have a reason for "requesting" an interview (such as going to be in the area or something)

I never ended up calling (and still havent heard anything), when I called them last year they were incredibly nasty, but I found a nice lady when I called to change my address this year in October or so
 
I think it is good to call.. I received 6 of my interviews by calling I will be in the area.
 
Would it be appropriate for me to request an interview if I am going to be interviewing at NYMC? Or is this too far from Jefferson's location to say that I will "be in the area"?

PS I live in Buffalo, NY.
 
hm. well, what if i live in the area and work in center city every day? it's not exactly a fleeting opportunity that i'm in the area...
 
no I just said I am from the west coast and I will be in the area for a interview. Travel is expensive. I got 6 of my 12 interviews that way

no,but Drexel, Boston, Gt, WF, Creighton,and Temple
 
prob. I will go to Jeff, I am wait listed at WF ( Love WF and cheaper) I also have an interview coming up at USC Keck. I have to see Usc. then look at fin aid. As of right now it is Jeff. I loved the people, great school, I could be very happy in Philly. If I have to choose it will be tough.
 
sorry my Interview. there were about 30 people I had 1 interview with a doctor and 1 student. very relaxed. At lunch I talked to the other students. I felt very comfortable. I felt that I would diff fit in with the student body very friendly.... boston was the worst I didn't like it at all. :luck:
 
Anyone know how Jefferson's waitlist process works? I'm trying to figure out what my chances are. I got a letter today that said, "although we are unable to offer you a place in the class at this time, we hope to have places in the class available before too long. You have been placed into a special high priority category by the committee." I wonder how many people get this letter.

that sounds pretty damn optimistic to me!
 
I got that letter as well. They said about 60 people came off the waitlist last year, but never specified if that included the entire high priority list or just a fraction.
 
hey all. I just got an interview at Jefferson. Its later in the game but I was wondering what you thought of your interviews? Any crazy ethical questions or was it very chill and relaxed? What did they focus on? Is it 1 doc and 1 student? Thanks.
 
I found it very relaxed. about 30 students for interviews I had 1 with a student and 1 with a Doctor. Very friendly. They called 1 week to the day after my interview. I really enjoyed Jeff it is a great school! I don't know if it is for wait list I have seen some who have been wait listed already some before me and some after, I believe that with with so many med schools in Philly I am sure there is a lot of movement on the wait list. good luck
 
im expecting that i will hear today or tomorrow if i am accepted so im sooo nervous right now.. jeff is my top choice and i wasnt able to sleep at all last night haha. No call yet tho :/
 
Waiting anxiously, as well. I was having dreams all night about arranging housing at Jefferson! Haha.

Based on previous posts, we should be expecting phone calls around 5:00-5:30est (should we be accepted, of course).

Do you guys really think they will call anybody today. They made it seem as though they will call in 2 weeks after they decide on this last interview day?

Regardless, I'm anxiously waiting as well.

well i interviewed march 19th, b4 the latest week tho and they havent made a decision on me.. last week someone here was accepted and she interviewed the week b4 i did.. so i imagine u guys might hear next week if u interviewed after me

I'm almost positive they said that as long as your interviewer can make it to this week's committee meeting, a decision will be made today. Otherwise, it will be made at their last committee meeting on the 23rd.

Hey PokerDoc...same here. No call. I don't know if They didn't get to my file or if I'm screwed. Has anybody gotten a phone call today?
 
possibly, but we wouldnt know it appears we are the only two from our interview date posting on here. but given that its been 3 weeks now i dont take this as a good sign.. i hope im wrong though.
 
ive heard rumors that some students got calls thursday morning instead of wednesday afternoon.. can anyone confirm/deny?

Well, two weeks, but yes, that is what that implies, unfortunately. 🙁

And yeah, no phone call for me yet, either. No news is good news...?
 
i just want jefferson to reject me already .. not really happy about this wait wait stuff
 
tomorrow ill call anonymously on all our behalves and ask them up to what group of interviewees have decisions been made for.
 
Hey, based on the Jefferson class of 2012 forum, people who interviewed on the 12th only heard back last Wednesday. It seems that the schedule isn't that clear cut, and of course it depends on your faculty interviewer's availability. Also no news on that forum about people who interviewed on the 19th. As long as no body from the 19th has gotten a call yet, I'm not worried. If anybody out there interviewed on the 19th and has any news let us know. Hang in there people. 😕

hopefully they wont get mad at me but ill give em a call tomorrow afternoon and let u guys know what they say if anything.. that the 12th interviewees heard last week made me believe the 19th people woudl here this week
 
I too interviewed on the 19th and didn't get a call today...strange...thank you pokerdoc for making the call tomorrow!
