Okay, I won't call until next week. But do we know what happens if you get a waitlist or a rejection? Do they email? Is there a status update on the website?
Accepted:
Expect a phone call tomorrow or Thursday from Dr. Callahan and a postcard via snail mail ~1-2 weeks later, depending on where you live, etc.
Exceptions: There are reports on here of people never receiving a phone call, but receiving the postcard in the mail. There was also a report of someone not receiving a phone call as others did, but still suddenly began receiving letters from financial aid and other departments welcoming her to the school. She called, the admissions department wouldn't *quite* confirm that she got in, but told her she would be receiving something in the mail. She later received the postcard that confirmed her acceptance.
Waitlist:
Expect a small, white envelope ~1-2 weeks later, depending on where you live, etc. It will notify you whether you are on the high priority waitlist or the standard waitlist.
Rejection:
From what I gather, unless you stripped down naked, told Dr. Callahan off and then ran around and starting killing kittens, outright rejection is unlikely to happen.
😀
In terms of calling for status tomorrow or next week, the admissions department is of no help. They claim, whether this is true or not, that they don't have information on final decisions and that the committee will be contacting us personally. This must be new to this year, however, since threads from previous years indicate that students called and found out their general status (i.e. whether a decision had been made or not) from the admissions office.
Hope that helps!
Man... they should seriously hire me in the admissions department... or something....
