I was wondering if Jesuit schools integrate religion into their curricula. I'm not Christian and don't particularly like religion being thrown in my face - should this impact my decision to apply to Jesuit schools like Georgetown or Creighton?

"Hello and welcome to The School of Medicine. Just remember you wouldn't be here if Jesus Christ didnt die for your sins."

You might hear a VERY little about it since its the backbone of their school. It shouldn't affect your decision.

The Jesuit schools are going to ask you to buy into their philosophy of cura personalis which means care for the entire person.

You need not be Christian to accept this philosophy of care but you should accept this philosophy if you want to be a good fit with that school.

I was at at Jesuit undergrad. Religion is not really emphasized for the majority of the school. It's basically if you're religious you can seek out those opportunities. If you're not, you can go through it w/o even realizing the school is religiously affiliated.

👍👍 on the cura personalis philosophy. They are really big on that.

they care a lot about service and reaching out to the community. not much religion shoved down your throat
