Jetpearl Number 10

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Here is my opinion again about locum guys and IT IS NOT addressed at Noyac or intended to criticize his opinions:
These guys are road warriors, many of them are excellent physicians and they are faced with new challenges everyday.
It is always difficult to be the new guy, everyone is watching you and no one trusts you.
Being a locum warrior means you have chosen to be the new guy every time you go to a new location and this is not an easy task.
The locums situation is not easy but it is certainly better than being in a permanent job that you hate.

Absolutely agree with you!
Excellent post- I've never been a locum - though I am registered with locum tenens ( the paperwork killed me) - I admire the ones that are able to do it..

Do you have authority to PM official warnings? I think you do 😉

I would rather say in public what I think a lot of us feel. Sometimes folks get "official" warnings but come on we are all (mostly) adults here and everyone should act like one (sorry to sound preachy).

If this wasn't a Jetpearl thread I would shut it down now. I think we all can read between the lines.

Actually this is funny... after a hard day of work.
I cannot read between lines.

I hear you. But sometimes we get this high tide, you know 🙂

My apologies if I was obtuse. What I mean was that this thread has started to degenerate because of petty sniping and would likely be closed except that I would like to keep the "Jetpearls" going.

If you feel that anything I posted here was "petty sniping" feel free to delete it.

Arch, man, you're WAY trigger happy with your thread closures. WTF??

Let things ride. Debate is good. Even those with the most seemingly ridgid ideals often take the most away from the friction and thus get a chance to alter said positions......

BEEN PATIENTLY WAITING TO USE THIS ANIM...

And ladies and gentlemen, that's THE definition of getting owned.

To be clear, Plank is the guy who gets knocked out- like big time.

😀

Hey, leave Plank alone. Debate is good. They can disagree, but it's good to see different opinions.

Thank you for your input. I am always glad to get feedback.

A few months ago when the forum exploded I was accused of not moderating enough. Somebody is always going to be happey with the moderation (or lack thereof on this forum).

With that said, I reviewed the threads I have closed that date back 4 pages or about a month and this is what I found:

A thread titled "How about those hot nurses?" from a new user known as "Captain Howdy1"

A thread titled "Is ASA Still Hostile To SDN?" by a user that has no connection to anesthesiology that I am aware of that dredged up a 3 year old issue that most everyone has forgotten about

A CRNA/NP/midlevel thead in which 2 nurse trolls were banned

A thread that was a duplicate of another one already running that had more replies

A thread that was posted that was the exact same post by the user in another thread

A duplicate thread

debate is good,

so are differing opinions,

so is light-hearted parody, please.

I fail to see what the big deal is.

some of this stuff is like taken WAY too seriously.

I still maintain that the animation was funny- no- downright hilarious.

🙄

And we appreciate the vigilance.
