I submitted an application this year to Hopkins. I got one email comfirming that my application is complete, and then NOTHING. I demand that Hopkins send me a rejection letter. That rejection letter is worth $85. I would even settle for a rejection email at this point. But come on, how rude is it to not even bother to send out rejections. And rejection letters are so easy...all they have to do is write a bunch of platitudes about how qualified the applicant pool was this year. Even postage is easy to figure out because the letters are so thin. If I don't get a rejection letter, what am I going to burn to celebrate my rejection? Sure, I could burn anything with the Hopkins logo, but it just wouldn't be as satisfying.

JHU, I demand a rejection letter!

They dont even reject people post-interview. Your just given a low waitlist position. Just get over it. Hopkins can do whatever they want. They are the best.

Uh, yeah, they do. They reject 1/3 of their interviewees, accept 1/3, and waitlist 1/3.

No they're not, and no they can't...

OP, you have a good point. You deserve some closure. Here's my idea

Since technically they haven't rejected you why don't you just reject them?

Send them an email that you can't accept going to their school, make up platitudes about how competative the med school pool was this year, and how their interview skills need work. etc etc. Maybe they had bad ECs? Why do they want to be a med school? How come they only ranked #2 on US News?????? Or how come they're #26 for Primary Care???

That'll show 'em!

I absolutely agree. I have gotten one email and that was for application was complete and payment received.

In others, here is my opinion...

AMCAS App... Hundreds of Dollars🙁

JHU App...$85😡

Mailing in the hard-copy of the JHU 2ndary they had me submit online...$0.41😕

Posting on this thread with fellow JHU-haters...priceless :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

This one was amazing!
Makes perfect sence too... :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Seriously, I applied to 30+ schools to maximize my chances and some of them just did not respond yet even though I was complete back in September 2007.
I know some schools do not inform applicants about rejects at all. Why bother?...
Such negative creeps!

Thanks for the idea. That is so awesome 😀

Another idea...some people have been saying they are going to keep their rejection letter from X school in order to frame on the wall of their office when they are older and wildly successful. Since JHU did not give me a rejection letter I was thinking of writing at rejection letter from them to myself so I will have something to frame. I don't know what it will say...perhaps you could help?
