Hi everyone!!

Has anyone heard back from JMU's MOT program? The latest I've heard from them was early Jan letting me know my application was being reviewed. I'm anxious to hear back from them!

Can I ask what some of your stats were and when you applied?

Hey! Yes of course no worries!

I applied in October to all MSOT programs.

University: George Mason University (Graduating Spring 2021)

Major: Community/ Public Health with a minor in Psychology

Overall GPA: 3.8

Pre-Req: Alls As but I got a B for Anatomy & Physiology (1 and 2)

GRE: I didn't take it

Extra-Curric: Created a COVID-19 Neighborhood Assistance Group to assist my community with the hardships of Corona. Volunteered for years taking care of someone that is diagnosed with Sanfilippo Syndrome. Assisted with the "Dia Blanco" or "White Day," an event in honor of people with disabilities (OT Abroad). Assisted with the "Proyecto Adulto Mayor 2018," a project focused on improving fine motor skills in elderly through baking (OT Abroad). Certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED and in Psychological First Aid: COVID-19, American Red Cross. I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. Fluent in Spanish (first language) and English.

Work Experience: Summer Camp for kids with Special needs for four years; Dulles Airport with AirFrance; worked at a retirement home where I met my OT mentor; Psychology Internship Abroad with teens struggling with substance abuse; Toys R Us lol; and Nanny/private child care all through college

OT Hours: Approx 70 in pediatric, home-health therapy, and assisted living community in the United States. I did two summers abroad (2018 and 2016) as an OT aid/Intern. I participated in cool community projects and observed for like 200 + hours but they don't count as official observation hours since they were completed in Colombia. I also grew up with the profession because my aunt is an OT in Colombia.

Applied to: Brenau, Shenandoah University, Thomas Jefferson University, University of St. Augustine, and JMU

Going to: JMU!

Good Luck I am sure they are going to email more acceptance letters soon.
