Hi, I'm a P4 student and graduating in May this year. I'm really worried as to landing a pharmacist job. I don't plan to do residency so I know there may be limited options. I might stick to retail so maybe a chain but don't know how to go about landing a job with the chains (CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid etc.). It is too late in the process for me to land a intern job with any of them now. I tried applying for intern positions when I was in my younger years but never got anything. I do have retail experience with independent pharmacy for 3 years but they won't be offering me a position. I never worked for a chain so I feel that I'm at a real disadvantage since most of them only hire their interns. So I was wondering if anyone can give any tips or have any experience getting a pharmacist job with a chain but never intern with them and how did you get it? How should I go about and contacting anyone since I don't have much connections or know any district managers. How do I get in contact with recruiters and district managers inquiring about possible offers when I don't know where to begin? And as for job hunting, when should I start? Not just for retail chains, any tips on where and how to look for jobs would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

Do you have rotations at any chains ?

I got a job at a chain for whom I was not an intern via my school's interview day. I would highly recommend attending if your school has one.

Who do you get in contact with for a job in northern alaska

I did rotations at chain with CVS but they only seem to hire their interns from what I see. Is rite aid easier to get into in comparison? My problems is I don't know any DM or managers or their contacts or how to contact them so its really hard to get into anywhere.

We had 5 interns hired in our district for 2013. Granted it seemed to be a high turnover district, but only 1 was with the company in pharmacy school. IMO rite aid seems to hire more interns externally.

I'd probably just go into a rite aid or any chain and ask for the district office phone number. Or better yet, call anonymously; just ask a staff member for the district office. Do this over a large geographical area to get numbers of multiple districts.
