I haven’t interviewed for a job in years . I know the usual questions they ask for any job (“describe a situation when you had to do xyz...”).

Anything particular I should be aware of with regard to the interview for my first job as an attending?

Thanks!

I bought a book somewhere called "the job phrase handbook" for cheap

that can help a lot, actually, not really attending specific but there you have it

I didn't really have tough questions during the attending interview trail, most places just want to know if I was okay with certain workloads and were happy to have me. The usual toughest case/how would you deal with a problem some situation at work/with a coworker.

Be sure to ask about patient loads/expectations, and DO NOT sell yourself short. Make sure PTO time is teased apart from holiday days, sick days, personal days, cme days. Ask about a signing bonus, retention bonus, loan forgiveness, any sort of bonus structure to the salary, know the RVU structure well.

I agree with the opinions offered so far. We are in-demand enough that there are not a lot of cutesy "what is your greatest weakness" kinds of questions. I found people tried to gauge whether I seemed like a reasonable person to work with, mostly in an informal-chatting style. They used items on my CV as prompts for discussion about my interests and how the job might fit. The important thing is for you to go in with real questions, because you have options and you need to give each place a fair shot to make its case to you. Good luck!
