Wait, the $67.90 was after a 20% increase? For contractor rates? And that is 2X the competition?!? What doctoral provider in their right mind is seeing telehealth patients for like 30-40/hr for reimbursement that they still have to pay taxes on?
And yet there are providers who continue to work for them 😵I mentioned engaging with Talkspace a few years ago...just received this email today. Wow.
Hello, As a former provider, we wanted to reach out and share some exciting updates.
Through focus groups, user interviews, and provider surveys, we've heard our provider network loud and clear. Talkspace is more committed than ever to improving the provider experience, starting with a number of major platform investments in 2022.
First up: we recently increased provider pay by 20%. You can expect to be reimbursed $67.90 per hour for Live Sessions (live chat or video) – nearly 2x our competition. And you can still earn bonuses ranging from $100 to $5,000 by maintaining long-term client relationships on the platform.
You can find more information on updated rates under the FAQ's on our network page.
Next: we've removed the reply-by feature (which previously impacted response times). We hope this change will allow clinicians to better manage their own well-being while caring for the well-being of others.
We'd love to reconnect! If you’re interested in working for Talkspace again and would like to hear about other provider incentives we're working on, please re-apply.
There are nursing home folks working for that and they have to drive to the facility and deal with other headaches. Talkspace would be an upgrade at the low end of the scale.Wait, the $67.90 was after a 20% increase? For contractor rates? And that is 2X the competition?!? I'm just saying, if you want good $$$, come on down to the Houston VA. We are paying our GS-11 psychologists $93,452, GS-12 psychologists $112,010, GS-13 psychologists $113,194, GS-14 psychologists $147,395, and for those brave souls who want a GS-15 position, $176,300.

I so wish I had done more neuro/assessment in my training. I feel pretty good on general psych assessment, but just cannot imagine making a practice out of that (I touched forensics briefly in school and want no part of that!)Why would I want a salary cut for more hours/week of work 😉 Any assessment folks want a job, let me know, I can fill a neuro schedule pretty easily for another provider.

I'm guessing there's maybe a typo in the GS-13 pay, given the small increase relative to the listed GS-12 pay?I'm just saying, if you want good $$$, come on down to the Houston VA. Still, as I mentioned in the other thread about the special rate pay, it's good to see a larger hospital paying higher rates for psychologists. Higher pay for some is generally better for everyone, since that theoretically means other hospitals (in the Houston area and beyond) need to also pay more to attract psychologists.
This is Kaiser. Don't. Just don't.I recently enabled the "open to opportunities" option in linkedin and got this one today. $90/hr doesn't seem too bad...I'm curious how this compares to other regions?
anyone have similar postings? Mods, would a sticky "Employment Opportunities" thread be useful?
Can you please tell me more? As someone who would like to end up in California, many of the employment opportunities are through Kaiser. This is Kaiser. Don't. Just don't.

Got an email from a friend who works for CDCR (California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation). They’re offering $170/hour for contracted psychologists in some prisons. That’s per hour worked, not just per face to face hour. No benefits since it’s contract work but that calculates to about $326,000/year.
EDIT - Just reread the email and it’s $160/hour for about $307,000/year
Which prisons? Keep in mind that in many prisons the problem will not be the inmates, but rather the guards. Guards in general do not believe in mental health and do not believe that inmates should have anything that makes them more comfortable, which can make prison work hell for people who believe differently - like Psychologists.Got an email from a friend who works for CDCR (California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation). Depending on pay and proximity, I would choose Stockton as opposed to Soledad. Stockton is a dedicated mental health facility. Keep in mind that they will get rid of you as soon as they can. The kind of money you are seeing is reserved for Psychiatrists who only write meds.Looks like the highest pay prisons are Soledad and Stockton. He sent me an application through the contract agency which is apparently called Imperial Locum Services, APC.
He didn’t send me a link or anything so all I know is what was in the email. I can’t vouch for the agency or anything like that.
Thanks for not crossing a picket line, even for the wrong reasons.Kaiser cares not for you, patients, or other professionals at all. They are all about money for themselves. It is reportedly like working in a hellish sweatshop. Nobody I know will even consider working for them. I turned down a well-paid contract job with them during the strike because before I ever interviewed they were telling me how, when, and what to practice - things like "behavior therapy only - NO psychodynamic", "10 visits only", etc. you cannot legally classify people as contractors and then treat them like employees, yet Kaiser does that. Kaiser also has absolutely NO respect for the law.
I would never cross a picket line for ANY reason. Thanks for not crossing a picket line, even for the wrong reasons.
LOL, don't tempt me, bro. I've read the entire literature on this (over my lunch break) and I have a laptop and a printer. You could earn up to $105/hour churning out ESA letters on Pettable if you want something higher.
There is currently a recruiter looking for Board Certified neuropsychs, but they're reimbursing about a quarter or so of what you should be charging for these evals/per time spent. I asked the recruiter about it and they claimed to already have onboarded 30-something people in the last month. Who are these people willing to do forensic work for pennies on the dollar?
This question gets asked so much. Hungry people, stressed people, people who don't know/weren't taught their worth, people with limited options. I mean, why ask who takes these jobs when practically everyone is so cagey about actually saying what they charge. Like, the actual number. I recently had an old supervisor tell me it's illegal for them to tell me what their hourly rate is. For example, I think my state contracts with psychologists to do forensic work at somewhere around $100/hr. If that's the only number I've heard, I might think that's a decent amount.
Where is it we're supposed to get this information if no one talks about it and the only offers we see are the poorly funded ones? It's a genuine question. I'm so exhausted from trying to research rates and asking early to mid career psychologists what they charge for forensic work.
I've had the opposite experience, actually. People have been very open about discussing rates locally/personally. People will generally not answer that question on a professional listserv, as they're worried about issues around price fixing, but in personal conversations, I've had no problem discussing fees with people.
