Joint MD/MPH: Advantageous or disadvantageous to apply?

I'm selecting my schools/ programs and about 10 of them offer dual MD/MPH. I'm a strong candidate for the MPH and I do ultimately hope to earn both degrees. Given that dual MD/MPH applicant pools are smaller, am I putting myself at an advantage or disadvantage for selecting dual programs?

If anyone has school-specific information, I'd be highly grateful. For instance, I've heard that applying to UCLA for MD/MPH is disadvantageous. TIA
