i've been feeling like jessie spano in that one saved by the bell episode for the past few months. you know which one i'm talking about.

also feeling way more confident than ever after doing topscore. just finished test 3 with AA of 22 and TS of 24 with a 24 average in orgo (for all 3 tests).

taking the test on saturday at 3.
any advice for the night before and day of with a late test time?
food to eat? stuff to drink? music to listen to on the way?

also i was wondering: can you bring anything with you to the computer? i was planning on having a bottled water next to me throughout the duration, along with eye drops and ear plugs <- i don't know if that sounds weird or not, i just don't want any distraction.
and what is the procedure for when you get to the testing center?

You can bring absolutely NOTHING with you to the computer.

When you arrive at the center, you have to sign in and then you have to put everything, including water , snacks in a locker, bags, scratch papers, pens, pencils .. EVERYTHING!

Then you sign some forms about cheating and that you are indeed you and that you're taking the test with the sole purpose of attending Dental school. Next they take a photo of you to make sure you're not taking the test for someone else. (wish I had known about the photo thing because I arrived at the test center in my pajamas and hair piled on top of my head.... Bottom line, my photo resembles a mugshot.. NOT VERY ATTRACTIVE!)

Then you go in for the test. you will be given pencils and scratch papers by the supervisor.. You have to sign in and out when you take a break. THere are also earphones available if you don't want to be disturbed.

My test center's computers stinks. THe screen does this weird humming thing and it it flickers. I think it's distracting and really affect the PAT portion of the test because it's so hard to distinguish angles when the screen flickers like that. But maybe all the test's computers are like that. Who knows?
Then when you are done, you get a print out of your score. and ta da!!!

One thing I wish I had known is that the computer will tell you when your session is done. I completely forgot that I have the QR section to do and thought I was done so I walked outside to ask the supervisor what I should do next. She couldn't figure out why my scores didn't show up on her screen for printing , but it turned out that I still have the QR. Basically I lost 10 precious minutes and this just further upset my nerves and well... that's how I ended up with a 16 on QR

You have to sign in and out when you take a break as well..
Also, when they give you scratch papers, make sure they give you plenty. Seriously, those "supervisors" are supposed to watch you and come to you when you raise your hand in case you need more paper and pencil. But during my test, there were times when my hand was raised for minutes before they come and when I look out I noticed that there was no one watching the test takers. Especially during the MAth part, At one time my hand was raised for so long and no one came that I just gave up and do calculations on the margins or between other problems.

It seem minor enough, but when time is tight and every second count you can't afford being distracted by the need for paper.

GOOD LUCK!

night before:

go to el pollo loco and stuff yourself with chicken and soda. then go for a nice relaxing swim and take a moment to relax in the jacuzzi. then come home and promptly pass out

day of:

have some eggs and milk (if you're not lactose intolerant) and watch walker: texas ranger or something equally silly/funny and blast some bumpin' music in your car (panic in the disco for me)

gluck!

alright, day before i'm thinking: done with class at 3, study and tie up loose ends up until 1030pm, then swim some laps and a little jacuzzi action. bed by 1230.
up at 11, relax, maybe eat some oatmeal, alot of it, pop some immodium to stop the gastrointestinal urges, and watch a little richard pryor. i'm having a tough time thinking of what to listen to on the ride there though-new rick ross/new ludacris/new john mayer/or some music that sounds like the stuff they play in banana republic-some slow relaxing jive. man, too many decisions before taking a test that'll decide what i'll be doing with the next 4-6 years of my life.

Watching Chuck Norris before a big test is probably the best advice I've heard on this forum. You couldnt do any worse on the test than Norris does acting.

You'll do fine. Good luck.
