I'm in a dilemma right now. I am done with content review but I can't seem to get more than a 30 on the 4 AAMCs I have taken thus far. Got a 30 on AAMC 10. Because I lack funds I did not take a Kaplan class. I just bought all AAMC 3-10. However, I have the paper exams 1-11 for Kaplan that I haven't even touched. I know the key to my breaking a 30 lies in PS. Supposedly that is my strongest section because I can most of the time identify the concept and apply the correct equations. The questions I miss are silly mistakes that I ascribe to not concentrating enough or the error being purely cognitive. i know if I take my time I can get a consistent 11 with ease. For VR I have almost resigned myself to a 9. I am not a native speaker but have been getting consistent 9 on my four AAMCs. For BS I can get an 11 easily if there is less orgo.

I am scheduled to take the May 2 exam but I feel that I may not be prepared enough. I am thinking about shifting my test to the July 17 exam. Is this a good idea? I want to be early in the cycle. Please what do you advice that I do?

My plan is as follows. I am going to do a AAMC 9 and see what happens. I will leave the last three in case I need new practice tests to work on for the July test. I plan to go and sit for the May 2nd exam. If all goes well, I will not void. If I do void, I have to do something different. I don't think it's content review. I really know the material. It's just that I make simple calculation errors, or panic when I see the clock ticking so I fail to think clearly. Are the paper Kaplan full lengths close to the ones they offer in their CBT exams? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

A good MCAT score trumps pretty much all of this - a lower score in May will hurt you compared to a good score in July. You should be OK as long as you submit AMCAS earlier and get verified - many schools don't even begin reviewing apps until August anyway (as they are still doing waitlist stuff for this year's class until then). I would advice against waiting until August to submit your AMCAS though - while it's not super late, it's also not that early either. Hope this helps!
