Please predict what score you think you got IF YOU TOOK THE JUNE 15th EXAM, and what your AAMC practice test LOW, AVG, and HIGH were.

Then, please update your post when the real scores come out...I think this will be helpful for others waiting for their scores, so they can see how worried ppl were before and after they got their scores!

I'll go first.

Practice Test Scores:
LOW: 28; AVG: 31; HIGH: 33

Prediction:
PS: 8-9; VR: 8-9; BS: 8-9 (I HOPE TO GOD its higher...)

Real Score:
(16 days...)

Low: 26
High: 32
Most scores ranged between 29 and 31.

Predicted score: PS:8 VR:9 BS:8

It sounds very low but i honestly feel like i bombed it. I made a bunch of stupid mistakes on the easy questions and barely finished PS and BS when time was not an issue during practices. I actually had to guess the last 3 in VR because I ran out of time....

Bombing an MCAT is not a crime. Bombing an MCAT center is.

Practice Scores:
Low: 29
High:35
Avg: 32-33

April 2006 Score: 29 (10,10,9) (PS,VR,BS)

June 15 Predicted Score: 33 (11,10,12) (PS,VR,BS)

Practice Scores
Diagnostic: 26
Avg: 30 (PS 8-10 VR 10-12 BS 9-11)
High: 32

Prediction: PS 8 VR 12 BS 11 (31)

I took the 1:30pm administration and felt like I did horribly on the PS section (tough physics material/passages), while I thought the VR and BS sections weren't too difficult. I really really really want to hit a 9 on PS, and to get a 30+ overall.

I see a lot of people post about doing well on the sections they felt they did horrible in, and not as well in sections they were confident about. I'm worried about that trend. Hopefully I'm not completely wrong about my performance in VR and BS. On the other hand, I'd like to be wrong about the PS section. But I'm guessing I can't have my cake and eat it too.

It will be interesting to post on here after the results are back in almost two weeks. I signed up for the August 9th MCAT just in case (i.e., lower than an 8 in PS, lower than a 29 overall). G'luck all.

low: 31(aamc3)
average:33
high:37(aamc10)

prediction:28

I hope I'm not right...I REALLY don't want to study for this again and turn into a very late applicant

low: 24
average:27-28
High: 29

predicted score: PS(8-9),VR (7-8), BS (8-11)

Usually I had a feeling of how I did after all the practice tests but I really couldnt tell with the real deal. I dont know whether to be scared or not. I dont feel like I did good or bad. To play it safe, I'll predict my score to be a 25 and just hope I did a lot better.

...
Predicted score: PS:8 VR:9 BS:8

It sounds very low but i honestly feel like i bombed it. I made a bunch of stupid mistakes on the easy questions ....

Just curious, but how would you know that you made stupid mistakes?

i feel like i did really horrible on the test.

Diagnostic:20 (January)
Low May/June:32
High:36
Average:35

Expected:31 & I keep thinking about how my essays sucked. ahhhh.

I'm not NewFrances6, but I also know that I made stupid mistakes. Generally I woke up the day or two after the MCAT with a sudden revelation of why I got a problem wrong that I knew wasn't quite working while I was doing it (i.e., forgot to divide by kilograms, etc.). One or two others, I spoke to someone else about right after the MCAT, and their explanation was right on, and my complete guess was definitely wrong. Generally, these were just PS calculation-based discretes I'm talking about. I'm sure there are others who had the same experience, and have been kicking themselves about idiotic calculation errors that came to them a little to late to do any good.

thinking about this makes me want to cry.

i know of at LEAST 3 questions i KNOW i missed in BS (usually a strong point for me), and i remember being unsure of like 10 more ... verbal for me was on big blur of uncertainty and the PS was too time-crammed for me to have any idea of what was going on.

Low: 26 (Kap diag)
High: 39
Avg: 35-36

Prediction: DOOOOM!!!!

I am watching the August dates really closely right now to make sure there is still room for me for a retake...right now a lot of test centers near me have multiple time slots open so I'm going to keep waiting and hope for the best...

All that hard work and nothing to show for it. =( i'm POSITIVE i bombed it. and i become even more gloomy as time passes.

I havent evne submitted my primaries yet. I think i am emotionally giving up.

I know the feeling. I studied so hard and stayed focus on how much I want to go to medical school. That whole test is such a blur and I walked out clueless as to how I did. I had done well on practice tests but you know how these tests are, they're written in such a strange way that you don't know if you picked what they were looking for even if you actually knew the concepts. In a way it makes me laugh: we are all working our butts off for the pleasure and privilege of sacrificing the other parts of our life, to learn an insane amount of material while we watch friends have fun and have a life:scared:

Diagnostic: 21
After one month and a half of study Low 28- high 33
Expected: PS: 10 VR 7-8 BS 11
Will repeat on July 24th if score is under 29

I'm not going to predict my score, because I honestly felt like I'd been run over by a truck when I left. The one thing I always keep in mind is one of the AAMC exams that I was convinced I had bombed, particularly the PS, turned out to be one of my highest scores (inc. a 13 in the PS), even though I had a really low raw score. Seems like everyone thought this administration was brutal, so there's likely going to be more room to screw up than an 'easier' administration.

My practice scores ranged from 30-36, usually around 32-33. If I can get in that range, I'll be stoked.

hey starlight,

i am actually in the same boat as you. i know several questions that i got wrong. i go through periods of ups and downs. feeling good for one moment that i'll be getting my scores soon. another moment, i'll be feeling paranoid about getting someone else's scores.

i haven't sent in my primaries yet, and the personal statement isn't writing itself. ARGGG

honestly, I don't have much of a sense of how I did.. at the time, I felt like I completely bombed PS, but I probably didn't do as badly as I think... *I hope... oh, I hope..*
my practice tests looked like this:
low: 30 (taken in Feb., though.. so maybe not too indicative)
average: 33
high: 36

PS avg. practice: 9.5 (but that Feb. one was a 7... yikes!)
VR avg. practice: 13
BS avg. practice: 10.25

PS high: 11
VR high: 14
BS high: 11

I'm predicting 9/13/10 (or 32).. I got 10's on all but one practice, and that was an 11.. so I'm hoping I stay true to form. I'm hoping for one point better than that on all those (or 35), and don't think it's unreasonable, but honestly as long as it stays at 30+ I'm not going to complain.

I'm tempted to predict much lower, based on how I feel about it, but most people do fairly comparably to their practices, I think, so I'm hoping that I'll be in close to that range.

****UPDATE****
VR: 13

I just felt so frazzled at the begining; i guess it was the pressure.
Yet, by the end I think BS may have gone very well, maybe even perfect. So taking that assumption, an average on VS- 12, and a below average on physics, 10- lets guess a 37. If that happened, I'd be thrilled, but worried about what the unbalanced score would mean. any thoughts?

Honestly, I have no idea how I did...I never had much time to think about it because the second I walked out of Thomson Prometric, I found a close friend waiting to drive me to the airport (no luggage, no extra clothes, nada). My grandmother had become very ill the day of the MCAT (my parents hid it from me that morning when they called to wish me luck at 6am)...luckily she made it, but now I am starting to get anxious. And I keep going over stupid things I know I missed. I figure if I predict low now, then I can't be too shocked (O.K. I really hate doing this...feels like I am jinxing myself).

Lowest Practice Test (well not counting diagnostic and the couple you take early in your prep):
PS 8 V 9 B 11 (Was sleepy and didn't finish PS)
AAMC 10: PS 11 V 7 B 11 (Worst in one section)
Highest Practice Test; AAMC 8- PS:12 V:10 B:11 (one question from a 13)

Real MCAT Prediction:

PS 10
V 8
B 10

I don't think anyone should be worried with a 10PS + 12VR + 15BS. This is a solid score.

is anyone a little more nervous now that the 5/31 scores came out? it seems like nobody really did all that well... my friend who took it that day is also mysteriously missing from AIM.

in any case, my lab thought it would be funny to write down the day of my mcat score relase on the main calendar. now they will know what happened when i dont show up to work july 19th...

im freaking out. we are next. AHHHHHH!!! :scared:

anyone take Kaplan full lengths and practice AAMC tests and see a large discrepency? (~5 points)

Isn't it getting to be about the time for a new thread...."OFFICIAL JUNE 2007 MCAT SCORE"

I would put it up but I don't want to look like a jackass if I get a 20.😉

Have no fear - Q or one of the mods will put it up soon. But if they put it up too soon, then it gets clogged full of "what time/when are the scores posted?" questions rather than actual score posts. *shrug*

Yup, you get 42 questions right on Kaplan and that's like a 13! 42 questions right on AAMC tests is like 10 or 11 Maximum!

Do you think that AMCAS will send the June 15th test scores this Friday since the 15th of July is a Sunday?

do they always post exactly on the release date? Or do they release before sometimes?

Based on the past few months, my observation is that they generally release on the date they're supposed to release (although sometimes there's a delay of a day or so where they cite "technical difficulties"), and that sometimes they manage to come out a couple of hours before 5pm EST, but I don't recall them coming out a day or more early.

Ok my situation is a bit odd, but here goes. I did not study at all for the MCAT while taking my 5 Old School paper and pencil AAMC practice tests, then studied pretty solid for 1.5 months and took the real thing.

This was probably not the smartest approach, but I got a good feel for the test and then I simply studied.

Lows:
PS-7
VR-10
BS-8

Highs:
PS-8
VR-12
BS-9

My tests went like this:
25 26 28 26 29

Prediction:
PS-8
VR-11
BS-9
Toal: 28

I scored three 11's, one 10 and one 12 on VR. My concern with VR was, I always ran out of time due to reading exhaustion. I felt like the new format would benefit me a lot for VR because of the shorter section. I finished on time, without rushing on the real CBT exam. So I hope to bring my VR up, because before I would guess on the last 5-10. On PS I was pretty consistently between 7 or 8 and on BS I was 8-9 pretty evenly.

Hopeful Score:
PS-9
VR-13
BS-10
Total: 32

Here's hoping for the best for everyone :luck: !

so you're concerned about a 10-12-15 looking bad because it's 'unbalanced'? you actually think that a 10-12-11 would look better because it's even? this isn't a boob job, symmetry isn't that important, as long as it's not a 35 made up of a 15-15-5!

You guys are seriously scaring me. I'm taking the MCAT probably in January (I have to get a 30 by the end of my spring semester or I'll get kicked out of my program!) and have started studying like mad this week. I've been doing okay, but all these horror stories about taking the aamc practice tests and then all of a sudden busting on the real deal....

Scary stuff. Is there any way I could quite possibly prepare for a really tough physical sciences section that day?

Man if you guys are scoring that high on your practice tests and still think you bombed it than I'm screwed...

Low: 29
High: 38
Avg: 35-36

Hmm. I'm new here and reading about the difficult PS is worrying me. I didn't think it was so bad. For me there was a BS passage that was really hard. I took the 1:30pm exam. Did anyone else feel the same way? Usually a good BS section boosts be toward my average score.

Prediction:
PS: 10-12
VR: 10-12
BS: 10

So I guess I am expecting 30-34.

Actual: They're in!

PS: 12
VR: 11
BS: 12

W:S

35S

This is exactly in the range of my average!! Have faith in yourself people!

Practice Scores (Kaplan and AAMC)
Low: 34
High: 42
Average: 37

Didn't sleep much the night before and I definitely did not feel too confident about the BS section (had the 8AM test) it was harder than I expected and I know I made a few mistakes for sure, so I am hoping I did well enough on the PS and verbal to make up for it.

Prediction:

PS: 12-13
Verbal: 9-10
BS: 10-11

Actual: PS:13, VR:12, BS:12

Aren't you supposed to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst...i just don't really want to do this a 3rd time:

First try: 21P (didn't really study at all, took it on a whim...and see what that whim got me)

This time:
low-20
ave-27 (PS-10, V-7, BS-10)
high-30 (but this really didn't count, because it only happened once)

Man, the verbal was killing me during the whole time, when i first took i got a 9 so i was pretty confident i had it down. But practice test, after practice test i kept getting 6-7s, and was extremely frustated...pushed back my test date from May 25th to June 15th then finally said take the darn test. But then for some odd reason, maybe it was an angel, verbal just clicked (or atleast i hope that's what it was). Before i was struggling to finish, and would miss a passage or two. On the real test i finised with like 8mins left! Crazy, i thought maybe i blanked and missed a passage, but no, every question was answered i even had time to go over questions. But the real strange thing was i actually liked the passages, they made sense, and the questions didn't seem too hard, nothing like those PR passages.

So with all that said it could be one of two things, maybe i had a "rainman" moment and finally learned to read in that span of an hour, or i completely bombed it, i'm praying for the former....less than 2 weeks, right?!

Wondering did this happen to anyone else?

I had a similar issue with VR. I always did well in VR (10+) but even then I would often find myself not being able to read the last passage and guessing, plus rushing through the 2nd to last. I would end up missing something like 8 out of the last 15 questions. The thing is, those were the old paper/pencil AAMC practice tests, that were longer and wore me out about 50-55 questions in. On the new, shorter CBT version I finished with time to spare and felt like I got a legitimate shot at answering every question.

So long story short, I hope to have improved on my verbal score, because I don't feel confident in my other sections.

Low - 27
High - 32
Avg. - 31

I predict around 9-12 on PS, 7-10 on VR, and a 10-13 on BS... probably around a 31 or 32 (i hope, if not i'm screwed).

Good luck everybody!!

Let's see: Lows: 29 (9 PS 11 VR 9 BS)
High: 35 (11 PS 11VR 13 BS)

My prediction: 11 PS 11 VR 11 BS

I felt pretty good and still do. Much better than the first time I took it thats for sure! Hopefully I am not being too confident here!! :scared:
