I am currently a college Junior and plan to graduate my senior year. I wanted to know what the time line is usually for the application process. I am a bit behind, but overloading myself these past two years have been fine. The only thing I got lined up is:

This summer (end of junior year) prepare and take the DAT.

Other then that, when is the best time to apply early(to the three main Texas schools)?

Do I need my DAT score before I start the application process?

anything else I should know at this time?

Thanks for the help

Taking the DAT after your junior year is a great idea ... when do you plan to apply? May junior year or May senior year? You can apply before taking the DAT and then submit you scores after. Applying early is crucial!! If you wait until your senior year youll know your GPA and DAT scores going into May and can compare you stats to others who have interviewed/been accepted in the past.

Yeah. I am graduating 2010 in the Spring and want to be in dental school Fall of 2010. So I guess that leaves me to send in my application July-Aug of 2009 correct? (is that considered early?)

I don't think July-August is early. If you want to be an early applicant, submit your TMDSAS application and have everything finished (letter of recs, photos, fees) by end of June, at the latest. If you wait until July/August to finish everything, you might not be able to hear from the 3 TX schools on Dec 1st.. (well, I guess it also depends on how competitive your application is).

The more competitive your application, the sooner you will hear from the schools.

1 suggestion: study hard and do well on your DAT! Keep your GPA up at the same time!
