So obviously there is a stigma and bias about DOs and osteopathic medical students, like MD>DO and etc.

This is an innocent thought/question and I realize this is a stupid question.
How do people think about pharmacists/dentists (and/or students) that attend a "DO" school, like LECOM School of Pharmacy and LECOM School of Dental Medicine.
I know there are a few more DO schools that have other programs.
Physician assistance also, such as CUSOM PA.

I don't want to take time to read their forums to figure out...
Is there a stigma against them among pre-dent, pre-pharm, and/or pre-pa?
Are their GPA and PCAT/DAT/GRE (or w/e their test is) avgs lower that other schools'???

This is an innocent question...
No harm intended...
I'm going to attend a DO school.....
Please don't take it overboard...

It is an interesting question if a bit silly, as OP already knows 😉

Oh and do people say
"I attend Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Dental Medicine"???

NOBODY CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys...
I am not saying "I think they are below DOs because first of all, they aren't doctors and they went to a DO school to get their degree."
Please... I don't care where they attended. MD, DO, IMG, FMG, Caribbean, or wherever. Who gives a crap as long as they do their job.
But does everyone, especially pre-XXX, think that way?
I am just curious to see if there is a stigma/bias about them so I know that we all are going through similar problems/battles and we all have work to do to fix it.
@kenjixshadow When did I ever say "I see them beneath me"???

Come on people... READ first...
Please...

NOBODY CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's good that nobody cares. That's a good thing. That's the answer I wanted (but it seems like you thought I was trying to offend people).
However, I was asking if others, who do not know any better, have certain opinions and etc.

You are opening a HUGE can of worms that NO ONE want's to read. Your thread will end up a **** hole and will be closed. Stop already. I am not easily offended, just exasperated. Do you think I go around and ask colleagues where they went to school? No. I don't know where they went and I don't care. All I care about is that they are competent and take care of the patients.

Not everyone is like you. If they were, we wouldn't have DO school stigma, or Caribbean school stigma.

Who cares what I'm like? DO stigma is ONLY in pre-med heads.

THAT IS MY QUESTION! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! STOP JUMPING THE GUN and read what I wrote.
I am asking if there are people who think that way, including and mostly pre-XXX.

Pre-meds have stigma against DO and DO schools
so what is so wrong about asking if
Pre-dents have stigma against Dentists and Dental schools of DO schools?
Pre-pharms having stigma against Pharmacists and Pharmacy schools to DO schools?
Like Pre-pharms having stigma against commercial pharmacists and the other kind.
Like people on here who are adamant that caribbeans schools are road to hell.

****ing jesus! I know you are respected and helpful in these forums but stop assuming people are here to offend others.
I'm asking a question so I can know better and try to correct those people if I come across them. How am I supposed to do that if I don't know if those stigma/bias exist?!!!!

OP is walking on thin ice. Suspect ban is in their future.

This thread was created to see how far DO stigma extends to.
Just as people on this forum devalue Caribbean schools and criticize their effort to make money, I thought there would be people who hold unnecessary stigma/thoughts against those who attend schools that is part of DO school (LECOM: School of Pharmacy for example).
I know the stigma exists mostly in the heads of pre-xxx and it doesn't matter what school you went to as long as you are a competent physician.
I never asked if you go around asking people where they attended school. I never said I care about which school one graduated from. @cabinbuilder Did I? Where? Did I ask you if you go around asking people where they got their degrees?
All I asked was if those stigmas exist and if the avg of scores/gpa is lower, which I don't think is a completely ridiculous question since DO avg are lower in most schools (maybe pre-xxx with high stats don't apply to schools of DO schools due to stigma? Who knows? That's why I asked. In order to know).
Also, I asked how people say their school because I wanted to know. Not because I was trying to make fun of it.
If a patient or a pre-xxx asks a pharmacist who went to LECOM: School of Pharmacy "which pharmacy school did you go to?" (for w/e reason), what does he/she say?
Why does that make you guys upset and think I am a troll? @J Senpai
I asked something I honestly didn't know. I asked because I know there are others on here who know much more about these things than I do.
However, some of the responses that I got are not only unrelated but mocking and ridiculing.
Some of you really need to stop and read before replying.

Let me guess, you guys are going to use that :troll: again, (@kenjixshadow good job changing it by the way) and go on mocking what I wrote.
Because as soon as you guys saw one person mocking this thread, all of you guys just joined along. There is a term for that in psychology (not bandwagon) but who gives a. I don't give a $hit anymore, you guys do whatever you like. I got better things to do.

I've also got to say, I really hate that almost every thread I see pop up from the osteo boards is always about either the stigma or MD vs DO vs carib.

But I've heard that osteopathic pharmacists are not as good at counting pills. Can someone give proof of this? Does anyone not have a friend's sister-in-law's cousin who is an osteopathic pharmacist?

SDN Corollary 1: Every DO thread devolves into an MD vs. DO comparison.
SDN Corollary 2: Every MD vs. DO comparison instantly resembles Groundhog Day.

To the Troll OP: no, there isn't a stigma. Your questions are absurd and so is this thread.
