I Have not taken my MCAT's yet and have some research and volunteering experience. My overall gpa is a 3.2 and my sc is a ~3.0.

Human Physio~ A-
Nueroscience~A

These are my core grades so far I have taken other science classes such as the ones located at the end of the list and was wondering if those get put into my science gpa for DO school?

Also I was wondering if with those grades in my sciences if I have a realsitic shot. I want to take the MCAT in january so I can apply to DO school this year and matriculate if accepted. Any advice on what I should do? Should I just go for Post-bacc or can i get into DO school? When and how do I go about applying to DO school like do you apply to the school before you have everything you need I do not know the process...
Any information about this would be greatly appreciated also! THANKS!!!!

Yes, those latter science grades will be included in the AACOMAS sGPA.

The most recent science grades, especially those in upper-level science are more strongly considered. With a decent MCAT score, proving you mastered the prerequisite material, you might get a DO acceptance.

For a shot at more selective DO schools, you might consider retaking some classes you got Cs in, as only the most recent retake is counted by AACOMAS in your application GPA, and this can more rapidly give you higher stats.

Do you think I should take an extra half year of undergrad to retake those classes or should i just apply to a post bach program and hope for acceptance there and then try to go to medical school after?
Thanks for your help

You should be okay taking an extra half year of undergrad.

If you are looking to get into very selective schools I would recommend a post bacc.

Also, you will need a decent MCAT score.

When applying to the medical schools do they consider your final GPA or the gpa of the time you apply? I was thinking of applying to LECOM if you know anything about the process of applying such as step by step break down of what you have to do that owuld help me alot. Once again thanks for all the replies the knowledge is greatly appreciated!
