STEP 1....I don't know how well I did but I think I passed it...Just had a question about scoring...I read in First aid that 10-20% of the questions are "experimental" so that means that anywhere from 35-70 questions are not graded....So if I had 50 experimental questions, for example, on my version of the exam and ended up missing a 100 questions total...So that would give me a raw score of 250 out of 300 after subtracting 50.....so would my 3 digit score be 250??? Anybody have any idea?

😕

As for the test...I had a variety of questions from every discipline....lots of pharm, path and behav. science....more molecular biology than I wanted.......and a biochem question about mucopolysaccharidosis....😕

During my first block, I was running out of time but thought I had finished all the questions. However, when I looked at my review screen at the end I had one incomplete question...I must have double clicked it so i "deanswered" it😡 I hope it was just that one because I only had 5 seconds left to scan the final screen.....and didn't see any other Red "Incomplete boxes".....the other 6 blocks went without any such probs.......thanks for reading.

Congrats on conquering Step 1!!

I don't think that's how the USMLE is scored. It seems to me that the NBME is very secretive about how they come up with scores. Anyone else have any thoughts.

Just forget about the test until you get the result. Seriously, it doesn't help at all. I spent the week after my exam trying to find answers to doubtful questions, only to realize that i had no chance of predicting the outcome. I've heard too many people saying that they passed, while they finally failed, and i've heard people saying"no way i passed" and ending up with scores in the 90s.

I guess you are right...I didn't feel "good" when I walked out of the exam....but, hopefully I did alright on it....What really sucks is that we have to wait an extra 2 weeks because of the delay in the reporting of the scores😡

What sucks even more is that I start my general surgery rotation on Tuesday....I only had 4 days off since my exam..... In hindsight, maybe I should have taken the beast earlier......OH well.....But, it feels good to be done with it!!

To those who have yet to take it:

Make sure you get enough sleep the night before because this test is a marathon.....I was sucking gas on my last block....adrenaline can only take you so far........I wish all of you the best of luck!!

I'm curious... Was it because of time pressure or because of lack of stamina? By that, I mean were you burned out by the end because it was taking nearly the whole 7 hours, was it because you just weren't used to testing for however long it took?
