Hey guys, just figured I'd share the info bc I know it helped me with concerns of the way they were grading the "new board" as of last year so here it is:

anatomy 79 (national mean 63)
biochem/physio 84 (national mean 61.2)
micro/path 82 (national mean 64)
dental anatomy/occlusion 92 (national mean 73)

overal comp score: 92

good luck 🙂

Congrats!!!

That's a good score and a decent explanation of a good strategy that can work for the most people.

Thanks and congrats again.

Congratulations, Most of us benefited a lot from other people experience, So I hope if any one here got a good score, be really helpful and positive. Can you give us more guide lines, so you can be really helpful.

hi...
you got really awsome score frnd.
can u tell the way u prepared and which books u refferd..............
so,it helps alot

very good score indeed!!!!
must have worked really hard for it,
all the best for your future!🙂

ok guys. here is what i did.
first aid nbde - its like decks but in a more organized logical subject by subject type of thing. i used the internet mostly to fill in any gaps in my thinking.
did that once but slow and thorough. took a month almost everyday after clinic in july- gave myself the weekend to regroup

then did asda's released papers. all of them. looked up and leanred why the answers were right on the internet and in the first aid book. made note of which q's i got wrong or wasnt sure of.

did the decks really fast bc i was scared of running out of time. put the decks i knew in one pile and the decks i didnt know well in a nother pile.
did the "didnt know" pile one more time, slowly but just once till i felt i could put it away and not need to see it again

did the q's that i had uncertaintty or blatantly was wrong on one last time

memorized al lthe dates on the dental deck cards (like 4 cards) by writing it out 3 or 4 times a day for 3 days perior to exam

sat on my butt and ate junk food and watched scrubs and got my nails done the day before, and only looked at the dates of erruption, etc one last time

if you can, write out all those dates teh second you sit down to take the exam bc then its out for you to use whenever.

all in all there will be stuff uve never seen before, it happens, just remember there are questions they are using to test out on us to see if a certain % can get it or not and to see if they are even going to keep it in the future. each section had a few "what the f---" type questions, and some from high school type chemistry that you would nveer remember in a million years. im NOT in anyway going to tell you what they tested or what you should emphasize on your studying bc i think that's just unethically telling you whats on the test and making it unfair for others. but dont go nuts and use more than 2 resource books. i think its ridiculous when people read from like kaplan and test takes and mosbys and first aid and the decks and the asda papers and i think its more about getting to know the material well and not going over 5 different versions of it and getting confused by the nuances in each. stick to the decks and first aid, they are most closely related to the released quesitons and therefore they are going to tell you the same way that the nbde wants you to know it.

congratulation 🙂 .
It will really help other we are going to sit for exam .
Now time to blast......

hey guys, i have always valued the feedback from others on the very broad and general basis of hearing what your experience was, how you felt, how you did on the new grading scheme vs the old board, etc. it was kind of comforting.... BUT PLEASE STOP EMAILING ME FOR QUESTIONS! THATS CHEATING and it makes me regret even giving any feedback at all!

of course youre going to get a ton of questions out from left field... whats the point of me telling you them? is someone going to whisper all the answers in your ear when you're in practice?!?! think long and hard about that before you even think about asking about specific questions... that kind of corner cutting, i believe, results in people getting better grades than they deserve, better careers, and ultimately more responsibility than they can honestly handle and then people, patients, get hurt!

those random questions are meant to see if you remember anything from high school, college, have any practical reasoning ability or simply they mean nothing about you and are the test maker's way of trying-out new questions

so just chill... stick to your decks... and itll be fine...

I think its about the chronology and the sequence of eruption....

ok guys.

to answer the first question i did the first aid book while in clinic - like on nights and the weekends were really my time to unwind - that being said that took 1 month

then when i really got to work i had 3 and a half weeks off from school and thats when i did the rest of my real sutyding, non stop, although i did end up in front of the tv doing the asda exams, otherwise id fall asleep!

the dates to memmorize, i did all of them, in the dental decks you will find 4 cards with tables on them, i wrote it all out those few days before. just a few minutes while eating my cereal in the morning and a few minutes at night when i was ready to go to bed. you can just do all of the 4 cards, its really not that much looking back on it, because you start to see a pattern emerge in your mind as you write it down. i do think its important to learn all the values, you never know which one theyll ask and since the exam has all the sections mixed together, its a good idea to write down all those tables as you sit to take the test bc you dont want to be startled mid exam by some random question and start to try to write out the tables while the 3 questions before and after it may very well be from another section (ie anatomy, phsyio, etc) so its better to have it all written out so when they throw one of those q's at you, you can just pull out your scrap paper or white board or whatever they give you at prometric and just find the answer.

good luck

I feel like giving up.
I dont know if it is any point applying with the following scores.
If you think I can apply and get into any college please pm me or post a reply. I really dont have the money to apply to a lot of schools. I am looking for some honest advice as I dont know what to do. I am a foreign medical graduate from India and planning to apply to AS program. I have no clue if any school will accept me. My GPA is 3.2

This is my second attempt, in my first attempt I made a 74

Scores
MY CURRENT FINAL SCORE = 78 :scared: This is my second attempt at part 1

i dont know dude. i know someone in my class who claims he had a 360 of 400 questions right and got a 92. i think that person had an exam with a lot of repeat questions and probably less questions being used for diagnostic purposes bc i know they sometimes ask random hard q's where youre like "what the heck do they want?" and like any other standardized tests they do "test drive" questions on test takers and then account for it after seeing how everyone does. i personally think i had a lot of random stuff and very little repeats from the asda questions. but an 89 is great dude
