Not a good idea. I don't know if the guy at staples just totally messed up but basically I got them spiral bound so that they could open up flat on a desk and they would be easier to handle. HOWEVER, the ends keep coming out - in other words the ends of the wire aren't secure such that they don't slip out of the last hole. Does that happen to other people or did this guy completely mess up? Now, the holes are starting to tear from me tampering with it so much trying to get it back in place. Jeez, what an idea. 👎

try taking a pliers or something and bending the wire so that it doesn't slip out.

spiral binding first aid can be great. if you get a ***** at the place it can be bad. Mine did the same thing. Only one or two holes will do that. s/he probably over-stretched the spiral and therefor cut it too short. you can melt the end and fold it over or just let it go to its natural length and let perfection go.

I got my FA spiral bound a couple of months ago. It's held up really well for me and I like it better than the hole punched version (I had an older version of FA that I had hole-punched, but the pages were so flimsy and I kept having to put reinforcers on every other page, so I got tired and chucked it.) Only 3 more weeks to go until I can (hopefully) chuck this one too!👍

One of my classmates got RR Pathology spiral bound. Looked really convenient to me.

Hah! Didn't even realize that! I was on SDN all the time when I was applying to med school, but in the last 2 years, I've been so busy that I don't get on that much at all. Now that big bad Step 1 is looming though, I thought I'd hop on and see what the SDN chatter was all about. Thanks for pointing that out! I'm almost a 3rd year at this point, so I guess I should claim my med student status now!😀

I'm thinking of getting Robbin's pocket companion spiral bound, has anyone done that? the pages don't stay open very well on their own...
