Chest X-rays: Felson's Principles of Chest Roentgenology
Basically an easy step-by-step guide to CXR reading with lots of examples. An easy read, interactive, a good text.

Orthopedics: Emergency Orthopedics 6e
Has X-rays, management, and a helpful "fracture index" in the front where for each extremity and part it shows all the common fractures (picture), their name, and where to go in the text to read more about it. A handy guide.

Felson's is a quick read, you fill - in - the - answers as you go through the chapters.

I understand that you were looking for a basic text - but I suggest you get this and use it throughout residency and beyond. Broder does an outstanding job:

Diagnostic Imaging for the Emergency Physician
Joshua Broder

The case studies text by Schwartz is excellent, and readable. Broder's book is also very good but it's pretty long.

This one came to me recently courtesy of another 4th yr student that I did a rotation with recently who said he loved the site. Haven't dove into it completely so not advocating it's awesomeness, just putting out another option...
