Hello. I know it may sound stupid, but I am completely lost. I'm just starting off in school again after taking some time off. My husbands in the military so I put school on hold for a little while. I'm just starting in school working on getting my Associates in Science and than progressing on to get my Bachelors in Biology. I'm pretty much confused. I've tried talking to counselors but I seem to get no where. It looks like most of you are juniors or seniors so hopefully you can help. My major concern is I want to make sure I am taking the correct classes. I looked on aamc.org trying to get basic pre-req information on what exactly I would need to get into medical school but it seems to vary by schools you apply to. Does anyone know the basics you would need to apply to medical school? Also I'm assuming working in the healthcare field would help or volunteering. When and how would I begin shadowing doctors? When do you take the MCAT? When would you begin applying to Med School? What helps you get in? I just need basic information. Any information would help. I just went from a Nursing Major to realizing I wanted to be a Doctor but didn't know the first thing on how to even start. Please help. Thanks!!!
