Whew now that my DAT is done with, and not as good as I would have liked but oh well...every school I called said they doubt they would turn away a "great" applicant (lets hope I'm great enough), because they had a bad math score. I just finished all these supplemental apps, I think it was over 350 bucks in checks...but oh well, the price to pay to make that in a day! So New Jersey requires no supp app correct? On some schools websites it says no photo yet AADSAS says to mail a photo to the schoo...guess I should call them. Has most everyone completed their supp apps yet?

I know that UPENN, UF, Nova, and UMD all have one. As a general rule almost all dental schools have a supplemental application (aka a 'secondary') of somesort. Some require that you take the initative and fill one out via online while others only have your fill it out after they have screened your application.

Just wanted to drop a line and congratulate you on finishing up everything. It seems you can just sit back and relax for a while (at least till schools like UMD get in contact with you about their supplementals). I've finished supplementals for the schools that ask for them initially, but I haven't sent them out yet. I guess I should get those out sometime soon, but probably not a big hurry since AADSAS hasn't done their first mailings yet 🙂

dont' most schools mail you a secondary app? I haven't taken the DAT yet, so I'm wondering if I should be worried or not? I've only sent one secondary out because the school actually required it before ti got the actual application.

Most schools do require fees though, and most req. secondaries after they contact you (a good thing). I am praying I get in...

Nope, no mailings yet. I've heard a wide range of dates for when the first batch would be mailed out -- I've heard as early as July 1st (which obviously wasn't true since the mailings haven't happened yet, haha) and as late as the second week of July. I'm not exactly sure if they mail in order of payment or applicant submitted, but technically shouldn't everyone that submitted their application have paid?? If I remember correctly, doesn't AADSAS require payment in order to e-submit?

I submitted my aadsas a week before i mailed out the supp fees...but i heard from someone that it's better to mail out the secondaries before aadsas --? not sure myself!

some people can submit aadsas via mail instead of online, so the payment thing only really applies to them. aadsas doesn't ever know if and when you send supp fees, because you pay the school directly, so they aren't going to hold your app because of it.

really? most of my schools require me to send out the application processing fee AT THE SAME TIME as the AADSAS application is submitted.. sucks for me..
