I don't know if I did that well...I ran out of time on the PS section, so I guessed on a lot of questions. The VR section didn't seem as bad as usual. I ran low on time on the BS (I usually have extra time leftover), and I guessed on quite a few of the questions. I'm really worried since my scores on practice tests were mostly in mid-high 20s, and I feel like I didn't have to guess as much on most of those.

Should I register to take it again on September 1? I think that should give me enough time to see what my score is (should be around August 14) and cancel if necessary. But will that be too late to get my MCAT score in?

I'm assuming you already applied and got verified for this cycle?

No, I haven't. I just found out recently that I could do that...I heard from other people that you couldn't submit the application until after your MCAT scores were in...they were obviously wrong...and I haven't had time to work on my essay for the application because of studying. I'm going to start working on it now.

Yeah, you better get rollin'. As for taking it in Sept., I think it really depends on you. For MD, you might be a bit late. Are you going into senior yr?

Yeah, I'm applying to MD schools mostly; maybe some DO schools as well. No, I actually just graduated this May.

Well, if I were you I would check with all the schools you'll be applying when the last MCAT score they'll accept. I think for some it's Sept.1, so you'll probably slide.

Apply right now as verification's gonna take a while by this time in the cycle. I think by end of June AMCAS posted they got 10,000 applications submitted...it's quite a bit.

Based on your stats (minus the MCAT), schools might send you the secondaries before even seeing the scores, so you could work on them before getting your score. If you're applying this year, you might as well try your best to put yourself in a good shoe.

as long as you are a hard worker, you shouldn't worry too much about it. just let it be, and when you get your scores and they aren't what you wanted and you think you can do better, then retake.

Okay, thanks.

Thanks...that makes me feel somewhat better. I was just freaking out crying a few minutes ago...haha. This whole process is not exactly going how I expected it to. I originally wanted to apply as early as I could.

If it makes you feel any better, you're not the only one in the boat where things aren't exactly going the way you wanted -- I'm in it too. Cheer up. :poke:

Aww, I'm sorry you're in the same boat!

No worries. Application cycle has just begun a month ago. I'm waiting for my score but pretty much got destroyed in PS and few passages from BS, so I need to retake as well. Except, all seats are filled so I can't even sign up at the moment. I did receive secondaries already for a few of the schools; however, the uncertainty of the score and my summer course is really hitting my nerves. Oh well...👍
