Ok, i just took the test and i need some serious advice.
i got:
AA:17
PAT:19
RC:19
QR:15
BIO:16
ORG:16
GCHEM:17
I applied to Nova, Meharry, Temple, BU, USC, NYU, and UM. I submitted my aadsas already but haven't paid the app fees or submitted my letters yet but can be done tomorrow if i need too ( i was waiting for my scores). Is it too late for this cycle to go on or should i keep submitting all those things ASAP. Also, should i retake the test because i read that the latest that it even matters is DEC.1?? My GPA is a 3.3. Should i be looking at going into a master program...give me options people!!
Any comments are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I think you might want to consider retaking the test and apply for the next cycle...unless you are in underrepresented minority (african american, hispanics etc)

If you apply right now, I think the earliest your apps will get to schools are probably somewhere in mid october, which imo is somwhat late. And with 3.3 and 17 on AA you are gonna have trouble getting interviews...

Your best shot is probably to apply next year, retake and ace the DAT. Personally, I dont think you need to do a master. Given that you do well on DAT next time and apply early, you should be golden for th next cycle.

ok, as far as the minority, I am a first gen American, the rest of my family is Cuban would that help?

Yeah it should... I believe that makes you Hispanic. I agree though, it's gonna be tough. 3.3/17 are both a little below average. I agree with jigabodo: if I were you (knowing just what you've told us so far), I would dedicate time to really studying hard for the DAT, retake and do well, and apply EARLY next cycle... and I mean within a couple of weeks of when they release the application (May-June). Good luck regardless.

Well, you are an underrepresented Minority, but regardless of that, you are below average in your DAT stats and you are applying pretty late. Even if you paid the fees and got the letters sent today, your application has probably been on hold at most dental schools and the piles of "completed" applications that will be screened before yours is probably pretty large now.

I don't think being from an underrepresented Minority group should keep you from giving yourself the BEST chance of getting into a school. And as far as I'm concerned, I think retaking the DATs and trying to score higher, especially in the sciences, and then applying early with all of your letters in the next cycle is a better use of your money at this point.

Sounds good i guess. Should i send in the letters and maybe pray for meharry or maybe temple though and cut my losses there?
Also, as far as studying, i did the destroyer book like 3 times and the kaplan book and the online kap stuff. Problem is i have HORRIBLE memory! what are some other things i should look at or maybe some new strategies i should apply...?
Last thing, i ve been hearing that alot of people are getting the same tests, are there any questions on this forum that can be found on this exam>
