Yeah so...just officially turned down Tufts and Temple and...err...never thought I'd say this but it kind of made me feel a little bad. Don't get me wrong, I love VCU and have no regrets. It just felt awful actually being in a position to send out the now proverbial rejection...and it was on my behalf. Anybody else feel this way?

Hope this news helps ease the minds of some people still waiting for spots at Tufts/Temple. Good luck :luck:

So how do you go about rejecting schools?? I have to do it soon too.

you could call them and see how they would prefer to handle the rejection....via email? typed letter? either way, you will need to send the school a WRITTEN form stating your desire to not attend that school anymore and to have your application withdrawn.

When I did it, I just sent an email to the director of admissions. He responded kindly, wished me good luck in my future endeavors and requested that I think of his school for my post-graduate work...

What if the deadline for the deposit has already passed? Do they still need a written statement?

I think it only needs to be "written" (as in snail mail) if the school asks you too. Either way, it's not like you have to go if it's not written. I just sent out a very polite and slightly apologetic email and caked the rejection with words of admiration for their school.
