How many of you have some sort of sick-leave policy at your program. Over here, if we are sick we can either take one of our "vacation" days or now we can take a day without pay.
If you have a policy, what is it? And is it department or hospital-wide?
I'm tired of my hacking coughing, puky co-residents having to come in and work, so they can get everyone, including the patients, as ill as they are.
What seems reasonable to you? A half-day accumulating per month (so therefore 6 days a year)?
