Why the hell would anyone close a harmless topic like that?

Never been to those forums, but I think we're more than happy to discuss it here as well. Why the hell would anyone close a harmless topic like that?

Is there a place here for discussing drug-related issues, pharmacokinetics, clinical pharmacy, etc...?
I am comparing thiazides vs loop diuretics, posted an openquestion on furosemide but the topic was closed.

your thread was closed probably for violating this part of the terms of service:

that sounds like to me that you are asking for medical advice in the post I quoted. just saying... If you are looking for a discussion, I would try to post a question asking about furosemide in the mgmt of "xxx" disease state based on "yyy" trial and asking for others opinions. or something along those lines.
I don't see why it was assumed that the other post was for personal use. Couldn't it just have easily been work related? Seems like the vast majority of posts here are about the job market, or getting into pharmacy school, and very few about the drugs themselves. God forbid we discuss the subject that we are all supposed to be experts in. I think many drug threads could be quite educational if they weren't so overzealously shut down. This probably discourages people from people even asking drug questions lest they be falsely accused of seeking advice on homework or their personal medical care.

very true, I am not a mod, just throwing out suggestions about how to word it to avoid having the topic locked 👍
Part of the problem is that it was your first post. People looking for med advice register for one post, it smacks of troll. More of a background would have avoided getting your thread closed.
While we are at it, can anyone offer me a medical advice on not to feel horny whenever a sizzling hot reproductively-pormising girl come to my pharmacy asking for Plan B?

Yes, probably you are right but with all the basic med. infonow available on the net it hasnt even crossed my mind, and instead of closingI could have been asked why I wanted to know that.

Exactly, and I am not much into salary dispute etc.
Pity really, with so many health professionals or professionals-tobe here, Im sure some would benefit from the discussions.
We have clinical discussions all the time.
The mods have itchy trigger fingers with new posters. Post the thread again making it clear that you aren't a patient looking for free medical advice and it won't get deleted.
