General Juvenile records

Can someone please tell me if juvenile records are revealed for the Certiphi back round check. I have two minor citations: a curfew ticket and a marijuana infraction that happened when I was 16. The curfew ticket was listed as a misdemeanor and I guess was an arrest even though I wasn’t fingerprinted or taken anywhere and just released to my parents. I’m freaking out that these tickets are going to affect me becoming a doctor.

It depends on how the court reported your convictions and the policy regarding minors. Also considering the decriminalization movement on marijuana, it's not clear that this will damage you. You do get a chance to review the results before Certiphi releases the results to the schools entitled to view the records.

The information regarding background checks should be available through AMCAS, AADSAS, AACOMAS, etc., about whether juvenile crimes are included. I suspect they usually are not. I'd check with Certiphi or the app services to be sure.
