Hi everyone! Just a quick question. I am an OOS at KSU now and plan on applying this next cycle. I have noticed there is a large gap inbetween the OOS interviews. I know alot of people of getting in now.. Congrats! But do you think the earlier the interview invite the more competitive the applicant is? Thank you for the input.. this process is so stressful and I am not even applying yet! I would also love to see some KSU successful applicants in the successful statistics thread!

Hey KSU, I got my waitlist letter and interviewed in the middle of January. I really couldn't tell you how they designate which interview you go to. When I was there, there were people from all across the country. I know some colleges do it by state.

Even if they do put some varying priority on interview weekends, an interview is still an interview. Mine was on the 19th of January which was late; it might have been the last interview weekend for OOS students. I got my acceptance letter today. So I'll leave you with that, and saying to not fret too much about such a little detail.

Also I'll add, people don't usually post their stats until they've accepted an offer and are done with the cycle. I'm sure many others are also still waiting to hear from other schools.

Honestly, I don't think the most competitive candidates necessarily received an interview date first. According to the Official Interview list, there was a gap between December 16 and January 5 for interviews. I'm assuming this was due to the holidays. My interview was January 5, and I wouldn't have considered my stats stellar. The Veterinary Medical School Admission Requirements handbook says that Kansas's IS interviews are held in mid-December, OOS in early January and North Dakota in February. I, too, am looking forward to see who else is going to accept a position at KSU this year.

I asked about this during my interview - they said there was no difference between the groups.

Honestly, I do not think it is that simple. There are a lot of factors that go in to the selection process. So it is probably not one variable that separated the interviewees out over the different dates. I noticed that I sent in my VMCAS on the day it was due (pretty late compared to most people) and I got all of my interview invites for their latter dates. But, like I said, it is probably not something we can necessarily predict.

My interview was 130pm on the last interview day and interviews stopped at 230pm that day. Everyone waiting in the room had last names W, X, Y and Z including me. So id go with them being in the order of instate, out of state and then alphabetical. I got in even though I was eone of the last to interview.

That still doesn't explain the interview dates. That could just be how they arrange the interviews on that specific day.

I don't think it goes by alphabetical. I was the very last person they interviewed on the last day and my last initial is way up in the start of the alphabet. I also don't think that they rank people either and have 'higher priority' go first because I went last and got accepted right away and I know of others who did as well. Quite honestly I think that it is just randomized as to who gets what interview date but I think the Kansas residents all go on the same day.
