So K-State has for a long time been my number one choice and it is my in state option. South Dakota, however, was my number two and has been incredible throughout the whole process, even going as far as to give me a personal phone call to offer admission. I’m a veteran so either way I would be paying in-state tuition and I plan to return to the military as a veterinarian so costs aren’t a primary concern. I’m on the fence between focusing on beef cattle/production animals or equine. Does anyone have any experience with either?

I'm a first year at the SDSU program and did an Ed Delay post-ROTC so I also get in-state and will be a military veterinarian after vet school. I honestly love it here and wouldn't change my choice for the world. The class is small the first 2 years (which can be trying at times), but the level of support you get here is incredible. They will not let you fail. We get way more hands-on and personable teaching than my friends at bigger schools feel like they do. Feel free to DM me and I can answer any of your questions! Even better, come to preview day (I'll be there!) and I promise to be perfectly honest with you!
