No, I'm pretty sure Kansas State is one of the ones with the policy on not telling people where they stand on the alternate list. RubyJoe, if it helps any, I know that based off of the stats from last year, by the time the class was full, approximately 70% of the OOS people who interviewed had been offered admissions. So there's definitely still hope!

Here's hoping good news comes to all of us tomorrow!! :scared:

When will there be a composite picture available for our class? In April sometime? I can't wait to figure out who everyone is!

I applied to Iowa and had an interview there. Also Florida and Michigan but haven't heard anything yet. I've already been rejected from Cornell and Missouri. But I dont care anymore I'm thrilled to go to Kansas !!!!
 
Just started looking through these forums...I love it!
I got an acceptance big envelope (didn't know they actually did that) on Feb 4th and the envelope is postmarked Jan 31st.

congratulations to all those who have received acceptances to K-State!!! work has been taking up all of my "forum stalking" time since my facility came up positive for a mouse virus last monday. so, i don't think i wrote tell you all how excited I am for you!
anyways i talked with K-state about my position on the waitlist, they didn't tell me exactly, but i will need a small miracle to get in. all i can do is hope!!!

btw...7,000 mouse records later, i think i am closing in on the culprit of the nasty virus!!!

I'm seeking a third female roommate for my house (3 bedroom, 1.5 bath) here in Manhattan; it's one mile from school (easy bike ride, or nice walk) to share with myself and a fellow classmate. It's a small bedroom but I have a large kitchen, nice size living room, large backyard, ample driveway space, and garage we use for storage.

I'd consider someone with a pet - I'd rather not - it depends (Shepherd and two cats here currently). Rent's $375/month + 1/3 utilities.

I am a little late posting, but I figured that I would join the excitment! I got my acceptance letter Feb. 4. I really enjoyed my trip to Kansas for the interview and still have a great feeling about it. Its looking more and more like that is where I will end up based on recent letters in the mail (Alternate interview for Florida and Alternate for Auburn). Thats ok though because I loved Kasas and so did my girlfriend! Congrats everyone.
 
Im still searching in other threads for this info but I have a question.
KSU website says their pre-reqs include

Humanities and/or social sciences 12 credits
Electives 9 credits​

What determines which humanity/ SS/ electives they use for their calculation? Their supplemental app doesnt ask for which courses you want applied to these requirements. Im just trying to figure out what my KSU GPA would be since its what they use to decide who gets interviews! Do they try and select the courses that will give you the highest average or do they select the first courses they come to on your transcripts? I probably need to call the school but I was just wondering if anyone knew the answer.

Edit: Okay, now Im really confused bc the KSU catalog says they only use the reqd. Science courses to decide pre-req GPA. Can anyone clue me in?

hmm... I know on the supplemental app that they ask for your last 45 unit GPA.... I was under the impression that they based interviews on a variety of factors that included the GRE, overall GPA, sci GPA, last 45 unit GPA, experience, etcetera...? But I never did any research to find out how they determined if you would get an interview or not..

Sorry I'm not much help! I would just call the school tomorrow morning and ask. GOOD LUCK in your app cycle this year! 🙂
 
Thanks adOggy...the KSU catalog states

The raw application score for each candidate is currently derived as follows:

GPA (35 hours of required science courses)30%

Graduate Record Examination40% (YIKES!)

Interview and Application30%​

But I will call and get clarification and then post an update.
 
Randomly, my interpretation would be that it is required to have said humanities, etc classes to matriculate, but for GPA they only use the required science courses, not the required humanities, etc courses. But, of course, calling is always most appropriate.
