Q 1 on GChem subject 4 test asks about the specific heat of a liquid in cal/g C. So given all the info you convert the units into those above. The Temp goes from 300K to 350K so in the answer explaination, they subtract and then it says that 50K=50C. But wouldn't it be 50K-273.15K= -223C?

Thank youuu

this is a pretty simple problem..
q=mc delta T
ur given 1..m and delta T (dont worry about converting to celsius..doesnt matter when you're just using the temp change). convert the 6 kcal to 6000 cal..and the 1kg to 1000 g. solve for x (the specific heat) which works out to 0.12

Okay thanks...I was just confused about 50K=50C thing.

Got it.
