So for some reason the kaplan 08-09's DAT book has 50 minutes for all its practice and full-length RC sections, while online and in the beginning of the book it says 60 minutes.

So I'm guessing these are typos right? the actual test is 60 minutes?
I just busted my *** to finish the RC sample in 50 minutes and got 40/50, which is a 21 according to the book, but do any of you guys know if the actual DAT has longer/more random passages?

real DAT 60 minutes
they are not typos they want you to be good and finish it in 50 minutes.

I'm not sure that's the best strategy and they're only doing it with this section. If they want to make it harder, it's probably better just to make the passage harder, not reduce the time. 10 minutes out of 60 is not an insignificant amount of time, I would have got at least another 5 right if it wasn't for that.

I kinda feel like I got lucky with one of the passages though. Also, this was on paper, I think it's a lot easier to skim the paper than the computer test no? Did you feel the same way?

yes it is much easier to scan paper because you can memorize where certain info are but with computer you have to scroll. Not too bad but definitely not as easy as paper.
