Hi all,
I just joined SDN for one reason... I need advice. I've been preparing for the MCAT for over a year, and I've been working as an EMT. Obviously, my schedule is crazy, but I still manage to study for 20 hours each week.
I started in January of 2010 by taking the MCAT with no prep. Big mistake. I got:
5 = P.S. 5 = V.R. 4 = B.S.
I really had no idea what was going on! After that aweful score, I took Kaplan online to brush up on the content, which was great. I loved the format, and the science was pretty much on target for my July 2010 MCAT. That time I got:
8 = P.S. 6 = V.R. 7 = B.S.
I was happy, but a 21 is not getting into medical school. I then did the Dr. Ross MCAT program, which I also liked very much. I took the test again this January (2011), and I got:
9 = P.S. 11 = V.R. 9 = B.S.
So, now I need your help, SDN. I'm so close to the 30 that I need. Any thoughts on how I should practice or what I should do?
I'm willing to put in the time, I just need to know what to do. At this point I've taken ALL the AAMC tests, the Kaplan tests, the Barrons tests, the Princeton Review books, and the free Gold Standard one. Should I buy more of the Gold Standard ones? Is there another company that you'd recommend? Berkely Review?
Thanks!
