Hi,

I've done a search of this forum, but couldn't find anything. I'm trying to decide between the Kaplan classroom course and the online course. What couse would you recommend taking? Is there a major difference in the course syllabi? I'm planning on taking the April MCAT and have not begun studying. I'm also working full time and taking another pre-req, so I'm worried that the classroom course would demand too much time. Cost will not be a deciding factor because the difference in price isn't too substantial.

I started, and didn't continue, the classroom option last summer. For me the determining factor was that the instructors are young enough to be my children. A couple of these young instructors were great, but mostly they were, um, children, reading from a syllabus, scared of questions. I had some very cool classmates, however.

I'm pretty happy with the online course. Self-pacing is turning out to work well for me, surprisingly. I wasn't sure I'd have the discipline.

Generally with Kaplan I'm not that excited about any of the instruction - it's really slow. I've heard enough of the "because you're going to be a GREAT doctor" stuff. But having structure and lots of problems and tests is great, and to me it's worth the money.

Best of luck to you.

Ive been to my first few classes and I'm going to switch to online. The instructors weren't that good and he spent too much time answering everyone's questions. I'd rather study at my own pace.
